Exactly. Generally a professional outfit will restrict the number of people "on set" to those that actually need to be there, and have no non required bodies present. They'll also try their hardest to match guys up so that there is a bit of magic between them as that can make a huge amount of difference in the finished product. Viagra has been a massive assistance since it became available. I often wonder, when watching some vintage scenes, just how the guys managed to keep hard when they were needed to. Especially as then, like now, not all the actors are Gay. Also, there can sometimes be scenes shot in places or with the surroundings not actually helping things. I remember we once shot a scene in a tractor shed in the middle of February. It was freezing. We would not have the blow heaters on as the noise would be unbearable. So the two lads had to get the scene shot as fast as was possible. I was standing to to side, directing, with a thick winter coat on, and wearing gloves. The two guys (Steve Strong & Leo James) did an amazing job that day...... It's not all glamour!
