Can we please talk about how he deleted his coming out video from his insta account and even changed the captions of the one picture where he holds a football in his right hand from “I wish being gay was normal” or something in that direction to just a „“ emoji? He’s handsome and cute and everything, but he seems kinda fake for deleting all gay-related posts. And with all the attention he got, he could do so much for the gay boys and men out there who don’t have a real gay football star they can look up to.
My theory is that he must have been overwhelmed by the massive international reaction and that he now tries to take back the coming out. Because he was the ONLY one who outed himself, no one else followed his example, and of course that made him a target for homophobes in the football industry and among the fans. His words about not being afraid to be who he is don’t mean anything anymore.

You're reading way too much into it. The guy has said in more than one interview he doesn't want to be known as "that one gay player" and he isn't interested in being a role model for the LGBT community. He came out mostly for himself so he could have a normal dating life.
He could have a perfectly normal dating life without coming out to the whole world. But he did an announcement, he knew what he was doing. He gained fame over night and he wanted it that way. And now he‘s trying to take it back. Why even make an announcement if you delete it a few months later. He could have just come out to his ex wife and family. Instead he chose to come out to the whole world and now regrets it.
