You partially answered your second statement with the first one. There’s still a decent gap between what men and women make in hetero porn. These are all sex workers at the end of the day. A rich queer man offering a lot of money for a hook up/blowjob is rarely gonna be turned away by a sex worker whether they’re “straight” or not. I’m sure some make more money copping a low-key sugar daddy than they do from porn.

While some of the male producers, directors, owners in hetero porn are either overtly queer or are on some quasi Diddy/Ace Rockwood type of shit, using drugs, money, girls to entice guys to do certain things. And a lot of people in porn experience hyper sexuality, fluidity, contradictions, paraphiliacs, gay resentments/insecurities, uncertainty about the gender, sexual, romantic, emotion, commitment spectrum. That extends to hetero porn not just guys in queer stuff.

James is not the only performer to talk about how rampant queer behaviors are among hetero porn male performers. It’s not really much of a secret any more.

It started with an ex-girlfriend named Stoya-a fellow porn performer- who accused him of rape, but I think that was in their private life and not in a scene. When she posted it, other performers came forward to accuse Deen of assault-but I think they were referring to onscreen.
The difficulty is Deen's porn shtick was rough play. He was a main player in Brazzer's Pornstar Punishment series where said girl would do something to annoy said guy and she would be sexually 'punished'.
Rough screen sex became his thing. It's defining what's rough play and what's assault and sometimes that's an individual thing.
That said, a string of performers came forward to accuse him and you would presume there must be some truth to it all but very hard to prove.

Why would you want to watch scenes of porn actresses being assaulted?

In any case, I think a lot of the criticism was about events that occurred off-camera too.
