Jockstrap

I’ve posted previously about wearing jocks for sports growing up and through college etc etc. I tend to lean towards the more classic styles and away from the fetish look when I wear them. I do like the newer materials.

but, does anyone know of a brand with thicker leg straps? Something beyond 7/8 or an inch?

By "thicker" do you mean "wider"? I'd have to check.

Ditto. I can't believe the jockstrap--a symbol of burgeoning manhood--fell into disfavor. Like you, I know that EVERY guy wore a jock for sports.
"The jockstrap— a symbol of burgeoning manhood—" Beautifully stated. That's captures it perfectly .

I was noticing yesterday when I got out of my car, wearing the vintage Bike from the 80's that I found on eBay, that even the mere word "jockstrap" when I say it out loud so galvanzes me that I start to chub up. Just saying the freaking WORD!

So for me its pretty recent that i went back to wearing jockstraps for a specific task.
About 4 months ago i got to a point with my health (issues) that i was able to restart to do small walks around where i live.
For some odd reason it just came to me one day that why not wear a jockstrap underneath my sports wear as i go for my walks instead of regular underwear?

Soon as i did it i havnt stopped now whenever i go for my 20 min walks :)

Not sure if is the feeling of wearing it or the thought of wearing it....or perhaps its my sub conscious thought that i think i might walk passed a hot guy that might want to hook up with me??? LOL just kidding :p
....but i can dream though cant I ? ;)

Yes, you can. AND... it's gotta be your primeval caveman psyche pushing you to adopt the manliest sports clothing ever invented. I say jock up all the time.

I've a real thing for jockstraps but I have to admit that I prefer boxer briefs for runs and workouts nowadays. The last time I saw a man wearing a strap in the gym locker room was about ten years ago, and I've never seen them amongst those guys at work who do an active commute or otherwise need to change. I would feel too conspicuous, especially given that I am openly gay - this being 2022 that's no longer a big deal, but I'm pretty sure there would be raised eyebrows (and a certain amount of barely concealed sniggering) if I started walking round the locker room in backless underwear.

The alternative I use is very comfy, doesn't ride up my arse and keeps my tackle in place, so I see no reason to go back to wearing a strap to work out, like I did twenty years ago.

Bedroom gymnastics are, of course, a different matter...

Which proves the point that I have made in the past - Jock straps these days are primarily fetish wear.

Some sportsmen do still genuinely need them, but the general point is taken.

Bull.

There are far better options these days.

Jock strap = Fetish Wear

Anyone that claims otherwise is just kidding himself.
Doubt it's that clear-cut. Jocks are still too widely manufactured and sold for a product whose sole purpose is as lingerie for bottoms.

Look at this thread and other jock strap threads on this and any other site.

98% of all the Jock strap images are highly sexualized with the vast majority of them deliberately accentuating the anus.

Now, go ahead and tell me again that they are not purely fetish wear at this point.

And, no, most professional sports players gave up Jock straps many years ago. If for no other reason then they now get paid to wear expensive Lycra.

I do not agree that it's "purely" fetish. I mean, it's obviously fetish for some, but not "purely". I wear them for sports, and I have not found "better options". Certainly not compression shorts, which don't support at all.

All of you guys saying compression shorts do not support at all must be wearing them two or three sizes too large.

I wore jocks decades ago in high school gym (required) and felt the only thing they did was to keep the scrotum separated from the crotch area. But, support? No.

Properly fitting compression shorts keep everything locked up tight.
