The only masculine or straight-passing gay actors I can think of right now are Richard Madden, who dated Froy Gutierrez, and Pedro Pascal, both are closet-cases. The former is short. The latter is a bit old.

Your desire that studios cast a gay man in action leads because it is time is just.....D-E-I mess. It is not up to Hollywood or the world to make us gays or rebrand us as the same as straight men. It's also a big risk to cast a gay actor in a big-budget major release because their being gay could overshadow the movie and/or result in bans in non-white(especially Muslim) countries.

Gay movies and TV shows overwhelmingly appeal to women, who like gay stories and romance, and to gay men. They just do. Some things are innate. You have to keep in mind that we gays are anomalies. We are only 2% of the human population and 5% of the male population.

You clearly dont know what you are talking about. The vast majority of gay men are masculine. Anybody with common sense knows that. I'm masculine and so are most of my gay friends. You just try to encourage negative stereotypes. You need to stop relying on Rupaul Drag Race. These gay men represent the minority. You are really out of your mind if you think that most gay men are like these men on the Rupaul show. Your post if full of internalised homophobia and is totally innacurate. You cant be serious.

Many if not most gay tv shows portrays gay men with sterotypes. For example, Go Go For The Gold, For The Love Of Dilfs, The Best Friends Of WeHo, Queer Eye, ect... These shows are what you mostly see on Logo or OutTV. Its problematic. Most tv shows on OutTV are marketed to feminine gay men. At least half show are drag queens shows. OutTV used to be more diverse. Now its mostly about stereotipical gay men shows.

Its wrong to mostly show feminine gay men when in reality most gay men are masculine. Dont let me start on the token gay man on Big Brother. Which is also problematic. Even if feminine gay men are a minority, they are the ones that are the most noticible. Unlike masculine gay men who easily blends with straight men. Therefore are seen as ordinary. So these tv shows always cast feminine gay men. Most gay men just cant rely on these shows. I stoped watching OutTV a long time ago.

Jonathan Bailey is masculine. He is not an alpha male. But he is masculine nonetheless. Dont be fooled. Most gay men are really masculine. Even sexologists says it themselves.

I still think this Wicked/Gladiator thing is beyond dumb but I hope Wicked still does well for Jonathan's sake.

Hollywood is embracing the PR combo, when in the past studios shuffled their movies around to avoid competing with other blockbusters.

This was normal even before Barbenheimer. it's called counter-programming. The only difference was Barbie and Oppenheimer both had stacked cast and lead by Oscar-nominated directors. None of those films above have the same big name actors/directors going head to head to generate the same buzz as Barbenheimer.
