I doubt that Luca would cast Jonathan, a gay actor, in his movies. He didn't in Call Me By Your Name.

Why?

I notice a pattern here of gay movies directed by gay directors : gay actors aren't cast in the gay roles.

Examples :

2. Stonewall - 2015
3. Call Me By Your Name - 2017
4. Love, Simon - 2018
5. Red, White And Royal Blue - 2023
