It's one of the most respected and loved musicals in the canon amongst theater folks. Amongst the general public, opinion is divided. Personally, I think it's one of the greatest ever written.

"Inspired by the painting, A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte by Georges Seurat, Sunday in the Park with George, Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's stunning masterpiece, merges past and present into beautiful, poignant truths about life, love and the creation of art. The Tony- and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical is split into two acts with the same cast playing different characters. The first centers around George, a fictionalized version of Seurat who is immersed in painting his masterpiece with help from his muse Dot. The second focuses on George’s great-grandson (also named George), a contemporary artist who invites his grandmother Marie to help him present his latest work."

I like it too but it's not like Wicked; it's very dense, the music is far more experimental (for the time), and the plot gets very cerebral in parts. Not saying wicked fans WON'T like it, but it's a very different vibe. If people are expecting a straight forward love story or basically Galinda/Fiyero part II, they will be disappointed. That all being said I'm looking forward to it!

HOPE THEY DO! Like we have the album with Mandy Patinkin and Bernadette Peters and the one with Jake Gyllenhaal and Annaleigh Ashford and they're both SO good (although the latter is one I listen to more often because Annaleigh is my darling) but just imagine one with Jonathan and Ariana

And in my dreams we get a movie with Andrew Garfield and Daisy Ridley.
