YES AND STILL IS. His latest "film" (it will play only 2 nights somewhere in Jesus land) advocates all "Christian" parents pulling their kids from Public Schools bc they are being "groomed" to make deviant sexual and gender identity CHOICES, and home-schooling them instead as he has done.
I think many of us used to have a HUGE CRUSH on him during his "Growing Pains" error. As soon as he's found out to be cray-cray, I had a 180-degree change of mind. It truly is true, when people say how hot they think someone is...as soon as the hot person's truths come out that are in complete misalignment, our minds and thirsting after them is gone completely.

Actually, he became a born-again Christian when he was 17 and still on Growing Pains, and he began demanding that storylines to remove anything he didn't approve of. After the show ended, he did not stay in touch with his costars.
I don't really know why he bought into evangelical Christianity, but I don't know why anyone does. I will say that I've seen a few of his videos and interviews with him and he's really not very intelligent at all. He's one of those people who thinks he's really smart and has a bunch of great arguments against evolution (for example), but he just spews a bunch of ridiculous nonsense (e.g., the crocoduck) that reveals he doesn't even have a basic understanding of science, and he doesn't know how to think, how to reason.

I was one of those people who had a huge crush on him back then. I get what you're saying about having a 180-degree change of mind about someone when you find out you are in complete misalignment. I can't think of any good examples off the top of my head, but I know I've quickly lost interest in guys for the same reason.
For me, though, I still think that Kirk is attractive and has aged much better than most people do. (He doesn't look so good in the pic Gutpunchboy posted yesterday, but age catches up with us all, or maybe it's just a bad pic of him). I also still enjoy the nostalgia of seeing old pics of him from the 80s--I agree with what abclou said above how him looking good in shorts (and a crop top)--but every time I do I just have to shake my head sadly and think it's too bad he's such an idiot.
Here's a bit of trivia you may not know about Kirk: he's allergic to both cats and dogs, so when he was young he had pet snakes. That's why in many of the old 80s pin-up photos of him, he's holding (or "wearing") a snake.
