Firstly, I’m not a kisser.

In fact, there‘s only ever been the one dalliance where he tried to kiss me and being inexperienced at it, I kinda didn’t know how to respond or what to do. Nothing came naturally.

I use to get quite upset that I’d never been kissed before and thought I was missing out, very much so. Then the occasion kinda arrived, at 42 years old, and yes, I’ve admitted, I’m bad at it but then it dawned on me… kissing is just gross.

It really hit home to me, I don’t want ’that’ in my mouth. I didn’t feel anything ’nice’ about it at all. The mouth in general is a petri dish of God knows what and the thought of someone trying to touch their mouth to mine has somehow turned to as a repugnant idea to me as rimming, or people who let their dogs lick their faces. Heathens!

I can’t be alone on this surely. Why is kissing even a thing? Have I just been so inexperienced for so long now that shit like this seems gross to me? Honestly, you wouldn’t want someone to sneeze into you face so why do you want them trying to do weird shit to your mouth with theirs?

Yeah, I now just find the very concept, well, gross.

sigh.

Gonna die alone, yay!

How should i start, Kissing is intimate and rimming isnt gross. I will say and don't be or get offended but you sound like pretty boring sexual partner. I think many people would agree with me.
Of course that’s offensive, not to mention derogatory and hardly becoming of either the open discussion of people’s life experiences and or the support this website is also named and known for. But it’s also your opinion, which you’re entitled to, regardless of how entitled and opinionated one might be.

In fact, it’s a little like saying, no offence, but I think you’re a burden to society, to the face of someone wheelchair bound. While you’re entitled and free to do so, it does also makes you a bit of an utter champion. But hey, some are here to debate and others like twitching boi holes and cumming on the furniture. No offence, but I doubt you’ll appreciate that perspective, of which i think many will agree with me.

The mouth in general is a petri dish of God knows what

But we know what. If it's any consolation everyone else has the same oral flora as you. So when you kiss you're basically exchanging the same microbe species. I wouldn't worry.

Remember that there are good bacteria in you mouth as well as bad. Most of the bad ones are anaerobic. They build up in plaque and smell like shit (which also smells but due to other anaerobic bacteria). That's what stinks when you floss. They also cause halitosis and dental disease. Flossing 2-3 times a week on a regular basis should be enough to avoid both.

Most mouthwashes are a 20% alcohol solution. Problem is it kills both good & bad bacteria. That's one of the reasons the directions say not to keep it in your mouth for more than 30 seconds. It does not replace the need to floss which mechanically breaks up and removes the stinky anaerobic plaque microbial communities.

I use mouthwash right after flossing.

If saving your teeth isn't reason enough to floss saving your heart is. Anaerobic bacteria can infect gums. Once in the bloodstream they can migrate to the heart and infect the linings of coronary arteries. Cholesterol gets laid down to bandage the damaged linings. More builds up until arterial constriction causes heart disease up to and including heart attack.

Nicotine also damages the linings of arteries causing cholesterol build up. For tobacco users who do not floss it's double jeopardy.

BTW artery damage & cholesterol buildup can happen all over the body. The acute risk is infarction in heart and brain but peripheral arteries may also get clogged and cause disease due to diminished circulation. Older patients with fully clogged femoral arteries often have to have legs removed if clogs cannot be bypassed or stented.

Wow this got way too long way too fast.

Kissing? Other than avoiding cold sores (HSV) on lips I wouldn't worry about it. Brush after meals. Floss 2-3 times a week then rinse with mouthwash at the same time and you should be fine.

:D

When you don't share an opinion with the majority of society, it can feel alienating. I also have never liked kissing, and imagine I never will. As I've explained to numerous friends, the emotion and intimacy that is tied to kissing just isn't there for me. I actually find kissing gross.

I don't think it's fair to label someone a boring lover. We all hash free different bodies and minds that enjoy and respond to sex and sexuality differently. That would be no different then labeling someone a nymphomaniac because they enjoy sex, or a freak because they enjoy kinky practices or have a fetish.

At the end of the day, it's about compatibility and understanding. Don't blame yourself for what you don't like, regardless of how others feel about it.

I assume you’re in the minority as far as not liking kissing. That’s ok.

But, to say kissing is gross is a bit extreme. Do you also think anal sex is gross? Sticking a dick where someone shits? What about giving oral to a woman?Kissing is an act that is less likely to cause sexual transmitted infections.

I think some Cognitive behavioral therapy may help with this if you wanted.

I find it fascinating that those words seem to suggest that the dislike of kissing is somehow pathological rather than a normal and valid preference.

For the record, sex can be gross. bodies can be gross in general. But that doesn't stop them from being sexy or beautiful at times.

In either case, I don't think it's fair to act like someone is a freak because they don't like an act or behavior that a majority of people like. I don't like the vast majority of condiments, including ketchup. Does that make me an extraterrestrial by comparison?

I literally said “that’s ok” in reference to the preference.

Lots of assumptions here.

Not sure why you’re talking about ketchup.

This is what I was primarily responding to.
“If you wanted”, meaning if this sentiment toward kissing is not the wanted sentiment.

Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pretty widespread therapy. I’m not sure where you’re getting pathological from.

dont listen to the haters dude, you dont have to do any of these things to show affection and intimacy. its all about what you and your partner both consent and agree on, not matter how "outlandish" or out of the norm it could be, that is the way the relationships based in a deep connection flourish.

we all get in our minds that if one person does it then everyone does it---if a guy rims another guy--the other guy has to rim him--if one kisses the other then the other has to kiss as well---this isnt true--we all like what we like and we all have things we dont like so thats where meeting of the minds happen before doing anything--happens sexually so if dont have things in common want to do then you know not to do it if dont want it done

with someone who doesn't look after their hygiene yes can be very gross indeed, but with someone you love, then it really is the most intimate, amazing and lovely thing to do - in my opinion anyway :)

It’d be pretty selfish if a man likes/expects to get rimmed by his partner but would never do the same to his partner if his partner wanted it.

If A guy rims my ass that’s fine with me but I am happy if I get to rim and finger his sweet hole as long as I want to.. sex isn’t about I did this to you now it’s your turn… if a guy is a top screws a bottom the bottom isn’t going to say it’s his turn ..

sex is about doing well at both people or more if there’s a group around hehe .. but it’s all about doing what satisfies our urges

If you enjoy it the pleasure outweighs the misgivings. I used to think the idea of rimming was utterly disgusting but seeing it in porn made me at least not grossed out by it and then getting to do it on an ass that I found very attractive and the way it made the guy react turned it into something I thoroughly enjoy.

It sounds like you don't get pleasure from kissing, which is fine people are different and I'm sure you're not the only one. Without enjoyment it's definitely a "why would I do this" thing.

Kissing, in my opinion, is the most intimate you and another person can be. Feeling, tasting, exploring his mouth and his breath is as hot as it gets.

Yes, I sincerely believe you've been inexperienced for so long that it will probably always revile you. Not sure why you think a mouth is always that petri dish of God knows what. I mean, I know a mouth can be such, but if I've learned nothing else in life I have learned how to achieve proper, good oral hygiene. Unfortunately, many haven't, or as one person said, they'll "be ok" with a wing and a prayer of daily oral hygiene.

Nothing better thana great kiss and a clean mouth

This sounds a lot like my wife’s opinion on blowjobs. She doesn’t do them and thinks they are the most horrible and intrusive sexual act. She stopped doing them very early on in our relationship. Kissing isn’t an issue though lol

I just think it's personal preference. Someone said all bodies can inherently be gross, but that's just a way of looking at things. Everything is natural.
If you like it, you like it, if you don't, you don't.

If you are looking for it, you'll find someone with the same preferences.

When I met my last boyfriend, he described himself as straight but bi-curious with a live-in girlfriend, and wanted to try being submissive with another guy. He enjoyed it when I fucked him, then I decided to try him with a deep tongued kiss. He admitted that he never saw himself kissing a guy, but rather enjoyed it. After that, whenever we met we always started with a passionate kiss.

ALSO--I've not only read in some health info sources but have asked my doctor about this, as I've not been a huge fan of kissing, esp with tongue(!)--kissing is supposed to actually be beneficial healthwise, as it helps you to develop antibodies to more maybe 'harmful' bacteria--seriously!

Exposure generally does that--not that the "harmful" oral bacteria are cause for much concern except to avoid dental disease. :)
