I have questions about his content. 1) is he actually having sex in these videos? 2) how did he get famous without the porn? Was curious what’s the appeal of him.

Not sure about 1) but regarding 2) I first noticed him via youtube. I think he was most active and popular on youtube around the mid 2010s. He did a lot of videos on focused on his profession of hairstyle. He also invited guests to do a combination hairstyling/interview. One of them was with Gus Kentworthy which to date has > 1M views.

And let's not forget he has an amazing body which he regularly shows off in his videos. So I would say a combination of thirst traps, interesting thoughts on hair styling, and opportune collaborations with specific gays that were having a moment (e.g. Gus Kentworthy, Nico Tortorella, Johnathan Van Ness, etc).
