Logan Franklin

I think his aspect changed due to the use of steroids, since he passed from the Men’s Physique category to the Classic Physique category, as you can compare from the two competition pictures below.

He plainly admitted using steroids, that is a common practice among pro bodybuilders, but not all are honest enough to admit it. Mush respect for his frankness.

I also admire him for having removed most of his tattoos he made at a younger age:

He candidly conceded in a reply to a comment on IG that he became aware tattoos ruin the aesthetics of the physique, so he decided to undertake the (long & expensive) process to remove them. I cannot agree more with his decision. :emoji_clap:
After stretching your skin for building the ink fades away

100% agree. Don't ruin the beauty with the ink.

Tattoos are permanent, for reasons I don’t need to explain since they can be found easily on the web. The colour and definition of the tattoo can degrade, but definitely it doesn’t disappear only because the skin is stretched.

Anyway, I found the post in whose comments’ section Logan explains why he had his tattoos removed:
The Texas Oak on Instagram: "When you visualize, you materialize ⚡️ Come see me guest pose at the @leelabradaclassic on August 6th - here in The Woodlands, Tx"
Here is the screenshot of the relevant thread of comments for your comfort:

Although not in competition shape, he is impressive in this guest posing at Lee Labrada Classic.

Btw, Logan has his own YT channel:

that he recently revived with the vlog “Road to the Mr Olympia”; it may be worth checking it out for updates.

I don’t understand why Chris Bumstead (the current Mr Olympia Classic Physique’s title holder) is so hyped. There are several competitors better than him, including Logan Franklin.
We’ll see what happens this year, but the Mr Olympia is so predictable.

Do you prefer the younger “lean” version of Logan, when he was a fitness model and Men’s Physique competitor?

or he more recent “jacked” version, as a Classic Physique competitor?

I think the bigger the better, provided there is a decent aesthetics. And Logan isn’t lacking good proportions even in the more ripped version.

He didn’t compete yesterday at the Olympia weekend; he posted a video in his IG where, almost in tears, he vaguely mentioned health problems. I hope he will recover soon.
P.S. Guess who won in the Classic Physique category? The usual one. I told you.

I thought he was going to do the Olympia?
He went to Las Vegas but, as I wrote, didn’t participate at the Olympia. I don’t know the details of his health problem, but I think that his decision should be respected without further enquiry.
After all, bodybuilding is one of the most physically demanding sports, and Logan is competing since 2014 (see below), so maybe he needs a rest. Health is more important than winning a competition.
Moreover, there isn’t much money in competitions’ prizes: the Olympia event (the most generous competition) pays $50k to the winner in the Classic Physique, and we know that first place is already pre-booked.
Most pro bodybuilders earn more from sponsorships, paid attendance to events, training services etc. Logan has almost 1M followers on IG, so I guess he can live off even without competing. He must consider his priorities, and probably his family comes first.

He did a video on his mental health situation on Insta where he was crying. Felt really bad for him.

My guess is that these personality types, they are perfectionists. They are driven to succeed and push themselves. The pressure they mentally put on themselves must be immense. To try and not suceed would be crushing. I want to give him a big hug and tell him he is hot AF, a titantic beast, an alpha among alphas.

...then have him breed me.

He had posted two short videos on his IG, explaining among sobs his decision not to compete at the Olympia.
Later he deleted the videos; I’m not surprised by that because his frankness and broken emotional status are uncommon among bodybuilders that always show their best side on IG. Moreover, the sponsors don’t like that an athlete shows he is vulnerable – so he might have received a request to remove them.

Indeed, I don’t envy the life of a pro bodybuilder, among intense training and harsh diet regime – to say nothing about the PEDs (Performance Enhancement Drugs) they take, most of which with dangerous side-effects.
Logan has been competing in the Classic Physique category that doesn’t push the body to the extreme “freak”, but nonetheless the strain is considerable and the physical reward short-lived.
We may admire the genetically gifted athletes who compete for little money; although I guess most the them step on stage not for the financial return but for the lust of victory and for the personal satisfaction of showing a dream body.

The WaPo recently did a well documented investigation about the risks for the health of bodybuilders and the pressure (by coaches, sponsors, etc.) they have to win competitions, whose organizers exclusively care about making money. Here is the link, if you are interested in more details:

Just followed him again after a long time. Looks like he comes from a rich family. I don't know why he is so pressured to win Olympia, it's just a competition that has so much politics.
What does this even mean? Have you ever stepped on a bodybuilding stage before? I assume the answer is no which would explain your question. Also, most top level athletes are endorsed / sponsored by supplement companies so pretty sure his house is bought with his commercial earnings (just like any other Olympian). Is bodybuilding one of the most expensive sports out there, yes, but that doesn’t mean our family’s trust fund money is supporting it.

Finally someone gets it

Judges are judging on things other than pure muscle mass and aesthetics?
Bodybuilding is one of the more subjective “sports” to evaluate, and judges can be influenced by other elements besides size and aesthetics. Considering that sponsors finance the competitions’ prizes, you may guess that an athlete with big sponsorships is favoured compared with an athlete less known.

Subjectiveness is one of the reasons why the IOC didn’t allow (and probably will never allow) bodybuilding at the olympic games:
Why is Bodybuilding not an Olympic sport?

That is dissapointing to hear, but understandable. I just don't like that money is putting its finger on the scale. Especially if sponsorships are driven by identity groups of the target market and less on excellence.
