I have lived as a straight male for all of my 54 years of life, but I have fantasized about being with another man for the better part of the last 20 years. For most of those 20 years I told myself I would leave my fantasies in my imagination and never actually go through with any of them. But the older I get, the more I want to make my fantasy a reality. I tell myself I don't want to leave this world without trying sex with a man at least once. I may like it or I may not, but I'm at a point in my life where I'm ready to make it happen.

The difficulty I'm running into when looking for ways to make my fantasy a reality is my need for safety and discretion. I need safety, of course, to avoid STI's (especially the 3-letter ones) but I also need discretion because I never want any of my family and friends to find out.

For any of you that lived straight and finally took the plunge, how did you make your first time happen? Was it what you thought it would be? Better? Worse? Any advice you can offer would be appreciated.

Congrats to you for deciding you want to take the plunge. My first question to you; do you just want to try it and then "cross it off your bucket list"?
Not necessarily a bucket list item but something I needed to muster the courage to say to hell with it and do what I've been wanting to do for so long. Truthfully, I have no idea if I'll even enjoy the experience, or whether or not reality can measure up to my fantasy, but I'm ready to find out.

I think the question is: What have you been wanting to do? Jack off with guy? Get sucked off? Or go all the way and fuck and get fucked?

Ok, gotcha. I'm hoping to start off slow with me jacking off a guy and working my way to giving a blowjob and eventually me getting fucked by him.

I've been going to my bate club and others for a number of years. And I've been saying on this board for the longest time...to find a bate club in your area. When you finally get the courage to go, attend a session to see how you like it. They are always looking for willing 'members' in the literal and figurative sense.

I'm telling you at these places there are plenty of men who are fucking looking to get their 'work' in.

You will find no shortage of men who will want to be jacked, blown and top another man, myself included.

If it makes you feel any better, I’m in the reciprocal situation - in my 50’s and realizing im attracted to women as well as men (have been in a relationship with a man for 7 years). Wish I’d started sooner!

Do you go to NY Jacks?

The first always insist on a condom ask if they are clear (not 100% grantee though), s

Be prepared for a possible guilt trip after your first time sex with another guy, butt don't let that put you off; sex with another guy is really hot and you will want more

You sound like me. Love getting oral and when wife stopped I quickly realized I could get sucked off within minutes from double list or sniffes. I am always horny but rarely get sucked by men as when I jack off, the desire goes down 90%. But a few times a year the timing is right and will get sucked. Afterwards I am paranoid I caught something and on one occassion had to go get anon testing at a clinic. I was in the clear but several weeks of stress and barely sleeping.

I am talking lately to a guy who only has a few married regulars and he gets tested regularly....so that might work out as true strangers are so risky. What if you catch herpes or monkeypox...good luck explaining that to the wife. Having said that...the thrill of dropping my pants and some stranger orally worshipping me is so hot

The Sniffies website opened the door for me. It's a website not an "app", so it does not install on your phone (perfect for discreetness).

My first time I documented here in my blogs. It's a four part series describing my process of using Sniffies from initial conversations and cruising areas where others like ourselves find each other. To finally hooking up. Hopefully it gives you some insight into how easy it really is.

Thanks so much for the tip. I'll check it out.

My first was at an ABS. A married guy (same here), stroked me off in a booth. We exchanged handjobs but he didn't want to cum just yet, so he finished me off.

When I drove home, I was so perplexed, I missed my exit. I've gone back multiple times for more!

I've been on sniffies but haven't hooked up yet.

small note: you can take prep to prevent HIV, although that will be potentially difficult because there's no other purpose to have prep except to prevent getting HIV, but even if you do get HIV, it's not a very big deal anymore.

you'll have to take a pill for the rest of your life, but you'll be undetectable within a few months which equates to it being literally impossible for you to transmit it.

You can get vaccinated for HPV, any general doctor Prob has several of these vaccines in their office and could do it on the spot.

But essentially there is no way to to be 100% sure other than taking prep for hiv and getting vaccinated for HPV.

Another sidenote though is it is a lot harder to get a blood-borne STI if you're a top than if you bottom.

In my experience having helped a few folks cross the line for the first time in my life, it very much depends on the kind of person you are ... but honestly, it gets harder to open up an app comfortably, whether on your phone or computer, and pick a random person to go play with, if you haven't done it in all this time ...

There is a lot of practical advice about how to be discreet, safe and so on, that we can go through, but in my experience the most important thing is for you to know what you will be comfortable with. Can you do randoms, can you show up to a "club" scene, do you need to make some sort of connection with the person you do this with, etc etc. Unless you know who you are and what you want, there's a very good chance you will bail, which is upsetting both for you and for potential partners. Good luck, it is indeed unfortunate to be unfulfilled, I hope you find what you are looking for :)
