So I just got out of the shower and as a kid my grandpa, yes my grandPA use to always make me put on lotion. the first time I can ever remember him doing it to me was when I was 4 but my parents say he did it to me from birth. Well I kept the habit of doing it after he passed away and still do it to this day. Every night after I get out of the shower I grab my bottle of lotion and put it all over starting at my legs and moving up to my neck. I can not stand it on my face so I stop at my neck. Doing it tonight made me wonder, how many other people out there put on lotion after there night time shower every time?
so having a buffalo bill moment right now. same here. only i use a mix of oils instead of lotion. loving the sweet almond and brown rice oil mix i use. ml
I grew up with more or less JOHN WAYNE for a dad......there was no lotion involved Whatsoever in my up-bringing. But hey....i'm sure you have lovely skin, thanks to Gran pa.
And ML, I have some aroma/massage oils, I have ,Arouse:sgrin: Relax:24: Oasis:sleeping1: Meditate:nana: and Attract:flowers1: Love to put them in my bath water when I take a bath. I might have to try yours though.
pym, not to be rude but I have nothing nice to say now so as my g-pa taught me I will not say anything else to you.
I put lotion on when I remember to or when my skin gets so dry it itches. I live in a tropical country so dryness is less of a problem though.
No part of me is really ever dry, flaky or overly itchy, and I rarely ever use lotion. I've never done it after a shower. The only place I ever get dry is the backs of my hands, and that only happens if I wash my hands waaaaaay too much (dirty jobs) or if my hands chronically come into contact with harsh soaps for several days on end. Which again, only happens if I run out of normal soap and use dish soap to wash my hands, or when I've worked at car dealerships in the past, washing cars (great for cars, baaaaaaaaad for skin). Maybe it's because I've used nothing but Dove soap for the last 10-12 years for my showers. It allegedly has that ΒΌ moisturizing cream or whatever. All I know is that it's the only soap that doesn't make my skin feel strange and dry as all hell. Regular soap makes me feel like a dish I've just washed; you know that really dry, squeaky, friction-y feel? Whereas Dove always feels like the few times I've used actual lotion. If I'm ever forced to use regular soap (typically Irish Spring, Zest, Ivory, Dial), I do feel dried out and get sorta itchy.
Yes I use some sort of lotion, cream or oil after every shower or bath... makes my skin look & feel incredible...
I usually only use lotion in the winter when it's REALLY dry out. And once a week, I mix in a bit of vaseline with my lotion. Does wonders!
Ah yes, the old 'Vaseline on the palms of your hands' trick. best thing to eliminate friction....hehehehe
