NYC has everything to do with it, cuz you seem to be mistaking the setting for 1950s Utah. Police your own queerness all you want, but I think there’s little basis to assume either of these people lives by the same rules as you.
You act like your the only one who's ever lived in NYC or traveled there. I see celebrities every time I visit New York and most of them walk around dress fairly conservatively so as not to draw much attention. Lucas and Tommy wanting privacy is a fantasy you made up in your head. We haven't had any statement from them other than them holding hands in public and wearing flamboyant clothes. Funny how the press seemed to notice this oh so private duo "twice"

They can wear whatever they want I don't have a problem with it but don't act like a famous male celebrity wearing daisy duke booty shorts and knee high leather boots in 90 degree weather while holding hands with another male celebrity who is clearly transition is somehow a cry for privacy. I have a feeling that they’re closer to being “queer besties” than actually being in a legit relationship/commitment. First, because it appears as if they’re both more into “masc” dudes. But it also seems like Tommy really likes playing with the paparazzi and with rumors. She? (though Tommy has come out as “trans”, it doesn’t appear as if a gender identity has been publicly embraced) has been seen cuddled up with so many different dudes over the last couple of years, seemingly for a bit of attention. And where is this supposed spouse? But whatever journey they’re on, wherever each of them are in the gender, sexual, affection, romantic, emotional investment, commitment spectrum and whether they’re in a legit relationship or not, good luck to them.

Lucas has already said that he feels his attraction to men is more of a gender and emotion thing than a sexuality thing. So, it may be the path he’s going down. But also, having gender dimensions/fluidity and trans friends (or trans partner) doesn’t really equate to seeing yourself as trans or even non-binary. You just never really know the dimensions of anyone’s sexuality, gender, fears, motivations, or where they are in the gender, sexual, romantic, affection, emotional investment, commitment spectrum. I’m never surprised when anyone “comes out” as anything.
