Luigi Mangione

I’ll be frank - I think he was better looking before we saw the whole face. Maybe it’s the hair.

Nah bro, I love the curly hair.

@ Italian guys, if you look like him share that gift with the world.

I mean anyone can relate even if they're from a country that doesn't privatize its healthcare
Exactly. No one wants to be an abuse victim, and that is what all Americans are, to our ‘health care’ and ‘justice’ systems.

I for one, appreciate the empathy from our friends across the pond.

what did he sacrifice for you? You're from England
He sacrificed his liberty for the memes and the thirst. We don't have your style of health care in the UK, but that doesn't mean that there are wealthy billionaires who the general populous would like to see rid of (CEOs of our water companies for example). Luigi gave us all hope, and who knows if his actions inspire copycats.

Plenty of people on this very board can relate to wanting to remove a parasite, stop an abuser, get out of a bad situation.

Sometimes, to end violence, it takes violence.
You are advocating for murder?

since he admitted to it, he’s guilty

the jury will instead determine his sentencing/extent of the crime
WRONG — Luigi has only plead Not Guilty for his 2 crimes in PA. His lawyer expects him to plead the same for the murder charge in NY.
His lawyer also just said “I haven't seen any evidence that he's the shooter”, 40 minutes ago.

Ah yes, the lets incite further violence posts…

Are you really saying someone with mental health problems deserves to die from making threats? There are many ways to restrain someone without doing a chokehold. Good grief
its a grey area to me. if you threaten to kill someone, mentally ill or not, expect people to attempt to stop you. and sometimes that can result in death. sometimes its intentional, sometimes its not.

So yes if you threaten to kill someone like face-to-face, then if you end up getting murdered, you did partially deserve it. maybe not completly- its not the ideal result. but i wouldnt blame anyone killing someone else who just threatened to kill them (or people around them) to their face. i would never describe someone as "did nothing to deserve it" if they were murdered in direct response to them threatening to kill someone else.

Whether or not there was a better way to restrain someone (and I think thats a weak argument too, you try and see how you would react when you feel like someone might kill you or people around you), or whether or not the reaction veered from self defense to murder is not really important since thats not what Im talking about. I'm responding to "he did nothing to deserve it". Nah, if you threaten to kill someone to their face, mentally ill or not, you at least deserved it a lil (the response from someone trying to stop you that results in your death isnt completely their fault its a perfectly reasonable response to your threats whether you are mentally ill or not).

Anyone can relate to murdering someone else???
It wasn't just someone else though, was it... Don't strip away the specifics from this case, as they are key to why everyone is so invested in this.

If Luigi had murdered a shopkeeper, no one on the internet would have noticed. But Luigi is not a murderer, he is an assassin.
