I don’t know. I think he’s straight. I think he was in a difficult position — being such a catch (good-looking, well-educated, from a rich family, very social and popular guy) and yet being prevented from having a decent sex or romantic life because of a very bad back (which he’d suffered from for many years) and the effects of Lyme disease.

as far as I know *he* never directly said he couldn’t have sex or relationships, his ex-landlord/roommate did and who knows if that’s actually true. It would make sense, but tons of fools were trying to ride his coattails and make up shit to get attention so who actually knows what the truth is.
The truth probably lies somewhere in the middle. On the days when his back pain was really bad, it was probably difficult or impossible to have sex but I doubt that he was never able to have it. He was an active guy and frequent traveler so it’s not like he was bed ridden all the time.
Still feel for him though.

People of the younger generations tend to be more social media savy about oversharing, and that's probably the case with him too, since in addition to being really really ridiculously good looking, he's also a fairly bright bulb.
I honestly can't pin him down based on photographs. He looks like a hot guy, presenting straight, but then in the photos where he's smiling there's practically rainbows and butterflies shooting out of his eyes.

There are a lot of us asexuals who have strong aesthetic attraction but not sexual. I would classify myself as both Asexual and Gay (or more technically homoromantic).
It's certainly possible that Luigi could be Asexual and still being aesthetically attracted to someone.
