It’s almost as though Luke pushed Shonda to add a gay/bi twist to the character (because he’s gay) and that’s why it feels like it was forced in and had no logical place in the storyline or character so was quietly abandoned.

And we all know Shonda is woke and Netflix likes anything with a woke twist (gay, gender ambiguity, sexualized themes, racial, race swapping characters, etc).
 
I do think he has chemistry with Yerin, but chemistry doesn’t always have to be acted upon or even be sexual off screen, at least it’s my way of thinking about it, but Luke himself said in his event recently that the press tour for him is basically keep playing a part and not being much himself, so a lot of it was PR, tbh. I think the storyline was one thing on the show and his IRL is different but most of his fans who have met him and shit and word on the street from ones who actually worked with him on the industry is that he doesn’t define or label his sexuality, and I’ve heard from different ppl he is bi and it’s kinda always been my read on him tbh but again I haven’t meet him like some people here who watched his plays and talked to him at stage door.

Is this a safe space to vent? Bc real talk… Bridgerton fans, more so the fans of his ship with his co-star who swear they are together IRL gotta be the most bigoted folks I’ve seen in a while… Basically in this new photos of Luke, from this interview with his brothers on the show, an account clocked that he was wearing (and they even showed photos with evidence) either his boyfriends ring or like a relationship ring or smt, and telling Luke and his partner was dating for a while now and shit and his fans attacked the person to the point the person had to delete their acc. I get wanting to protect him and saying outing someone is shitty, but the amount of “no it’s false we couldn’t be gay” “no way he’s gay, that’s just impossible” “he is not A gay” and homophobic comments saying no way he is not either with Yerin or into women, not “a guy like him” (yeah, they went there) bending over backwards saying all in his friend group must wear the exact same ring when different folks over time said he was into guys is just… disgusting. Anyways, sorry for the rant.

I’m not into the woke Netflix stuff, but for this season of Bridgerton, I kind of wanted him to say no to the girl and marry some gay guy he was secretly fucking, get exiled from society, and move to the countryside and open a bed and breakfast or something. He’s hot for sure, and cute, and charming.
