Moreso, casual friends/ acquaintances now. MK told fans on a livestream that they weren’t as close anymore and haven’t spoken to each other in a while.
Malachi is cute but can be a bit obnoxious and self absorbed. He never checked his fans for spamming MK’s comments and livestreams with “where’s Malachi?” And even encouraged it at times even though it was obvious the joke had run stale. MK brushed it off most of the time, but he went off when it happened on his birthday.
Plus the Kylie/ Malia thing was a mess that everyone had to deal with.
But honestly, that is kinda Malachi’s thing. He becomes besties with whoever he’s working with at the moment, then drops them for the next person. While on tour he was suddenly besties with CJ. Then with camp rock, it’s become Orlando. Now with tour it’ll likely switch again.
It just makes it awkward because they did have to work together again on Z5 and this tour. And don’t get me wrong, I can understand why Malachi shifts friend groups so quick and often since that’s what he’s done since being in the industry. It just sucks and hurt MK because he thought they had a stronger friendship than they actually did.

I think he does this shifting groups thing because maybe he feels like he needs to be friends with a lot of ppl because of what happened to him, I think he said on an interview that on school he was like the weird one
That very well could contribute to why he does it. And for most, it doesn’t bother them. But for MK, their friendship meant a little more because their families bonded as well. I think it’s a defense mechanism and also an anxious habit because he also tends to shift his wardrobe and interest to fit the group he’s in at the moment.
For his other friends it was different. His female friends kept him at an arms distance since the relationship “scandal”. Cj was too old to care that much. Orlando is the new bestie but he’s already seen how this plays out, so he’s just enjoying the ride and building his fanbase.
