sure, but explain that someone who calls u a racist for saying no thanks haha. unfortunately people are too sensitive these days.
People aren't too sensitive at all, a lot of people (more specifically POC who try to date in the gay scene) often times face insurmountable rejection because of this practice of "preference" which in sometimes does amount to racial bias in most cases. When I dated in college using grindr (stay off grindr yall it fucking sucks) I am mixed presenting (green eyes lighter skin) but I am half puerto rican and black, not white. On grindr men would message me the usual sweet nothings and would do a "race check" as I call it. Where they would pry at what I am and the minute I would tell them that I am half black and not half white, they would ghost me.
So the attraction to me was there, the like was there, but because i wasn't white it was enough for them to run. After a while that hurts. So there is a fine line that is tread when you think of someone's blackness as not preferred as opposed to thinking of someone's blackness as automatically "ugly".
