Lol, he's really shit talking about 10 years ago, blaming Mark for everything and how being shirtless in videos was bad, to promote his OF...!? 
I always said his jump to OF wasn't that shocking. If you looked at his drawings and some of his photos, he was always a bit explicit. So I now understand his switch to OF better and why he went there.
I also see how he could feel a bit exposed with YouTube. Mark had his first before he met Ethan and when they got together he just became a part of it, and probably didn't realize until later that he was sharing more than he wanted. I don't think it was done with the intent of being exposed, by him or Mark bit that's just what happened. I don't think he was blaming it bashing Mark here either, just taking what happened. It's almost tempting enough to make me want to sign up to his OF. Almost. I don't find him as attractive as I used to, but to each his own.

No. The video was more nuanced than that. He talks about how the system of influence culture is exploitive and Mark has admitted to playing the algorithm by posting shirtless pics to get views. He told no lies. He was younger than Mark and Mark is the person who commodified their relationship and made them a YouTube gay couple. I knew early on Ethan was doing YouTube for Mark. He never had a YouTube channel prior to meeting Mark. He was very young and went along with it. I am glad he is pulling the curtain back. So ready for this.
Also in video he talks about how he found freedom and was able to purchase land. He talks about shame, and sort of comes out in doing OF. It takes courage. I love his new found confidence and freedom. It’s funny how he gets shamed for OF but yet they want to see him nude. His relationship with Mark was heavily eroticized. So let’s not be judgemental. I feel the dig at Mark might be stemming from judgements he may have received from him directly or his fans. Quite a video. Loved it.

Yes. I think Ethan would not have pursued a public life if it wasn’t for his bf. Imagine being that young and you meet a hot guy who would put a camera in your face. It’s so easy to fall into his lifestyle. It was Marks show and Ethan went along with it.
They are not that different in age. People need to stop acting as if Mark had total control and Ethan had no say
It’s hard to feel sympathetic when Ethan Hethcote has not had to work in the conventional sense, unlike most other people, since he was at University. He’s been sponsored, comped, flown overseas, etc etc. Mark never made any bones about what he wanted to do, and that was make videos which turned into a good money maker, so he didn’t have to take a job either. If you look back at their videos, Ethan was a very willing participant, and appeared to enjoy the freebies and the experience.
Ethan was not saying feel sorry for me rather that he is in control of his life now and how they used their bodies and gay eroticism to get those perks you mentioned. Being a gay influencer and doing OF is similar as they exist in realm of using one’s body to attain fame and money. This was more a message for fake puritanicals who were judgmental of his choice to get into OF. They loved the shirtless pics and kissing/ basically soft core porn but draw the line at OF. It’s hypocrisy. Mark is no more better than Ethan bc he has used his body for a decade to make money. Ethan was saying fuck the shame you put on him.
