them both so this is not meant as a critique, but they were moving in different directions. Mark is clearly more conventional and conservative, while Ethan is more liberal and adventurous. There is no way Ethan could have explored his current endeavors and kept Mark happy. 
Because sometimes things aren’t as they seem. Especially in LA. Most people have an image to uphold. Some even use their relationships as a crutch until they find something else to latch onto. It’s fake. So when they move to the mid US they probably realize how their relationship was really only for show and they were holding on to that comfort a little to long.

They have changed so much and I believe Mark was stunting Ethan’s growth and evolution as he has the one one who has changed the most. Mark has interestingly remained the same. Which is odd bc it is very useful to grow as you age and get more life experiences. They both come off as nice guys but are not compatible anymore. Which happens over time. Although I think Mark is still taking the break-up quite hard, I think it was the best thing for the two of them to grow, learn, and explore the lifestyles that appeal to each individually.

No, I mean he seems to enjoy being a filmmaker or let’s say working on making videos. Brians career outside of the allegations is actually quite impressive. I am not saying he should groom young men and take advantage. Bohemian Rhapsody and Usual Suspects were good films. He ruined his career with his personal stuff.
I’d really like to get inside Ethan’s head to figure out why he decided to go down the path he’s chosen. I’m not judging, I just want to know why because I am assuming what he’s doing now would hinder any future career prospects he might have.
This is outdated thinking. The world is changing rapidly. As we evolve, I think this idea that sex work can destroy any future career will be tested. I don’t think Ethan had any huge aspirations like becoming a public figure (politician, actor, etc). He can live a decent live. The general public doesn’t know him at all. Many of the ppl who see him on the street would never know he has an OF.

If I had to guess, I'd bet that he didn't believe he would take it nearly this far. Intending to do some racy/sexy non-nude stuff, he started making serious money and needed to keep upping the ante to keep it coming in.
Country queens who move to a big city often do odd, cring or self-destructive things because they perceive it as edgy.
I'm from Indy. It's a decent city, 12th largest in the country, but no it does not compare to LA, Chicago, Dallas, Seattle, etc. It doesn't have the arts and entertainment of a city like Chicago.
