Not good.
He is demonizing the people that are actually popularizing his work by bringing it to other people. The use of the term "vultures" is so antagonistic and inflammatory and unnecessary.
Ok, you want to only sell prints, great, do that.
The world of photography has irreversibly changed with the wide availability of internet and free image being shared online.
Sell prints, some people will take pictures of your prints and will upload online and other people will look at them and will download to their computer and share with others.
It is the reality of internet image world. Every photographer deals with that and everyone is aware that is how it is going to be going into this. Nobody can ensure any exclusivity or control over images.
People got your OF password and passed it around and shared it with their 10 friends. Wrong, that's shouldn't be done.
But this indignation about your images floating online and actually being an advertisement for you, people getting interested in them and coming to check you out? Come on.
He is ultimately sawing off the branch he is sitting on, NOT having images online would leave him in obscurity, he wants people to "steal" his images so that he would get attention and clicks.
There are photographers that ONLY sell printed books, they don't post anything online. Go ahead and do that and stop this "I am a victim of evil conspiracy" emotional manipulation.
One thing he has done way too much of is inject this unnecessary drama and psychological manipulation into the whole enterprise. He is purposefully fostering this love-hate relationship with his admirers and "haters" which of course there are none, nobody hates him and nobody wishes him anything bad, some just roll their eyes and can't stand his childish antics of desperate attention hunger. Telling everyone how he is a victim and there are 'haters' out there for him is just a ploy to get attention and support from his fans and have them 'rush to his defense' so to speak.
I think people should just leave him alone for one year and let him be, sort of like putting a child into detention, when you don't get the attention you want with your acting up you need to calm down and behave like a grown up.
No likes, no clicks, no subscriptions, no purchases, no shout-outs, no comments about him, etc. Let's see what happens and how quickly he suddenly realizes that he lives for this attention and needs all the people to constantly 'feed' him his drama back.
