Matt rife

Bro wtf!!!
"I've only been to Baltimore one time I
ate lunch there and the hostess who like
seats you at the restaurant had a black
eye a full black and it wasn't like what
happened it was pretty obvious what
happened and we couldn't get over the
fact that we're like this is the face of
the company like this is this is who you
have greeting people and my boy who I
was with was like yeah I feel bad for
her man I feel like they should put her
in the kitchen or something where nobody
nobody has to see her face you know and
I was like yeah but I feel like if she
could cook she wouldn't have that black eye."

Matt Rife’s joke is a classic example of misogyny disguised as humor and it only empowers abusive men to be violent with little or no provocation. Joking about domestic violence which so often escalates to serious injury or death is a pathetic way to get a laugh. Maybe if he was a better comedian, he wouldn’t have to use jokes about domestic violence victims to get a laugh. If only his Netflix special was actually funny.

I think you should just unfollow all of Matt's pages (including those outside of LPSG). While that was presented as a joke, it was also an underlying commentary (perhaps even a criticism) of Baltimore, much like many of his jokes about race, gum violence, etc. You should step outside of your bubble and expose yourself to people with truly diverse mindsets. If these kinds of jokes trigger you, it's best to seek help. Dark comedy is a real thing, and I do understand that it's not to everyone's palate. For those who have followed Matt for a while, we already know the brand of comedy he delivers especially in his crowd work.

Bullshit. He hated that women were a majority of his audience and resorted to stupid "jokes" to attract the truly unintelligent. There's nothing "dark" about him or his comedy; he just disdains women.
