You're assuming he ever intended to live there and pay it off. The fact of the matter is he bought an old and rundown house that would cost a lot of money to restore, so he burns it and takes the insurance money. There's also immense value in sympathy and donations, which he got.Why are people here accusing him of burning down his own house? In this real estate market, it would have sold quickly and probably above asking. Any insurance payout will be less than market value and is going to be a long process. Makes no sense. People shouldn't toss around accusations like that without proof.
It reads just like Jussie Smollett. Why would a homophobe A. know who he is and B. Stalk him and learn his address? Why post during an open investigation with actual evidence? Why post on social media saying "donations would be appreciated"? It does not sound like a typical hate crime, but it sounds exactly like every other insurance fraud case.
