I am however mystified about what Ferrari gains from this deal. Do they think that someone with the cash to buy one of their luxury vehicles can be 'influenced' into buying one??? Do we get 10% off if we use the discount code MATTY at checkout ?

Probably hoping that some loaded sap that used to subscribe to his OF might buy one

I’m not totally sure what the marketing strategy is there either, but a luxury brand like Ferrari doesn’t necessarily need to entice people to buy, they just need to remind people that they’re cool and exclusive. So having an Olympic athlete gush over how excited he is to have use of one for a weekend does reinforce their brand status I guess.

Totally agree. He changed the hair when he should have changed (got rid of) the awful beard .

He used to occasionally shave it off for diving competitions. It’s probably a permanent fixture now unfortunately.
