They always look great together. I'm still not convinced Matty isn't bi/gay. The majority of non-diving-team tweets he's liked on his Twitter (which he's not used in a year, admittedly) are from gay guys, and an old twitter account which is in his name and lines up age-wise and date-wise with when he switched to his more recent professional account, even suggests explicitly as such. Even in interviews he's said before that 'so what' if he were, and most recently in his Q&A when asked about relationships, his response wasn't at all gendered before he switched to joking about how his housemate cooks for him anyway.

I don't think for a second him and Tom are at it, but I do wonder a lot whether the shared experience is part of why they get on so well. No matter what he is though, he's hot, and that's the main thing!

He’s very open minded that’s for sure and he seems to be kind of a flirt (he certainly leads Tom on to be cheeky). He’s also embraced Tom’s gay friend group since moving to London.

Sexuality aside, think of all the testosterone coursing though these guys... elite athletes in their early 20s, and in close quarters all the time, something’s gotta give (or take).

He’s clearly very gay-friendly. But apart from our wishful thinking, I’ve observed zero indication that he likes guys at all. In fact, all we know for certain is that he has an ex-girlfriend.

Tom and Matty have a huge fanbase, and they are role modeling a healthy and adorable bromance that destigmatizes gay/straight friendships in a big way. I really feel we all need to normalize such friendships without making assumptions about the straight guy (no matter how smoking hot he may be!).

Personally I love the friendship between Tom and Matty. Gives us plenty to imagine anyway!
