Max Bowden (ben Mitchell)

In his latest cameos he's looking more like "Ben", if that makes sense. Definitely looking more rested and recovered after his tours.

I wonder where he is in those videos? Looks very nice. I can see a rather luxurious looking pool behind him.

Also, his cameos are blowing up. He's obviously had a ton of requests. Love that for him.

He’s in Cyprus at a wedding. He’s said it’s bloody hot, he forgot his shoes, but at least there’s a pool 😂 Max give us all the shirtless pool pics now! 🥵🔥🔥🔥

That's what I get for watching the videos and paying absolutely zero attention to anything he said!

That's actually hilarious because I must have really zoned out. He said where he was multiple times.

I wonder when he might pop up on EE? I do hope it's fairly soon. Though if he was in Cyprus only a few weeks ago he can't have been filming.

Eager to see what they do and what the set up is like for his potential return.

I need him here ASAP. The plot's going to shit & Ben needs to come back and show why you can't go from Caviar to "Little Sausages".....

Also angry Ben is really hot.

To be honest, I think Ben's return might be imminent. They're burning through this affair plot really fast based on the spoilers for next week.

My fear is that Ben and Callum will indeed separate on Ben's return. I do think that Ben and Callum will likely reconcile next year, assuming Bowden is happy to come back full time, but for the moment I think those of us who are fans of the couple are in for a lot more pain before it gets better.

It's delicious drama but I might be too weak to walk through that fire until I know for certain whether Bowden is returning.

Same to all of this! And I hate the absolute character assassination of Callum right now. This isn’t his character at all and it all feels so random and plotty.

I won’t be watching until it’s confirmed that Max is coming back full time.

It's been progressed at such a breakneck speed that I just cannot keep up.

Like I would understand if this was parceled out over weeks or even months. Slowly we would see Callum's reasoning and we can adjust and process it.

But it's literally gone from Callum being nearly completely absent, to an appearance where he talks about his commitment to Ben but kisses Johnny, then to a full-on fling with Johnny, and next week to feeling jealous and starting what sounds like an actual affair?

It's been, what, 3 episodes of this? Maybe 4 or 5 if we include whatever happens next week? Collate the actual screen time so far and you get maybe 15 minutes. Probably 20mins after next week.

So in the span of literally 15-20 minutes Callum has gone from being a devoted husband and father to a lying cheat who doesn't seem to care about what this affair will do to his family, his daughter, or his husband.

That's actually insane. Worse, it's incomprehensible. It's one thing to make Callum as a character look truly awful - I can respect that decision - but at this speed it's just overwhelming and nonsensical. Like I can't process this because the character keeps spiralling downward at such a rate that I don't even know what's happening or how I should feel about it. And we are getting absolutely nothing from Callum about how he feels about it other than 30 seconds of guilt.

My only explanation is that they got the go-ahead on this plot two months ago when they spoke to Bowden, and so pulled this together crazily quick. I can only assume they are rushing hard to get to a particular plot point in time for something - I assume Bowden's guest stint - and so they've had to burn through all this material insanely fast.

I can't even salvage this relationship. It's literally a main facet of Callum's personality. It's like if Leslie Knope killed a puppy, or Hank Hill joined an orgy. They wanna get to a plot relevant moment where they can have a "love triangle- who will Callum choose" but like.....why?

Callum & Ben have been built up for fucking 6 years. They've been through hell and back. They won awards for their relationship. They have a huge fandom and a hatedom.

Johnny & Callum have what. One single fanfic as of now on the whole internet that presents them as romantic. Forced moments of lust that don't make sense with Callum's character or feel wanted. And the show is treating it like it's cute, Callum being caught sneaking out, the whole "we can totally just be mates hanging out" breathy scene. While they also have Callum break his "soulmate"s heart, lie to his daughter's face and next week still beg his family to not say anything. For what?

Nothing they've shown has made me believe Callum has a legitimate reason to love Johnny. But they're playing it off like he can't resist him, when if anything Callum is really good at avoiding temptation.

Do they want to just break them up? They could have done that with Ben just divorcing him off screen cause he feels guilty after not being available on their anniversary or something. Then Callum could end up rebounding with Johnny, and they could show him struggling but clearly lonely & Johnny is the closest thing he has to stability.

Instead they just made Callum forget Ben and Lexi like they're obstacles in his life and not the people he loves most in the world. He's acting like this is a schoolboy crush, and no Callum would ever be this callous. He would never piss his life away like this. At this point they might as well have him pick up a meth addiction or join ISIS.
