What he is saying is basically true. His family are pretty conservative jewish folk... The family was/is very wealthy in the food business and he was indeed "disowned" for his online stuff almost 10 years ago.

There are different Jews. Ethnic and religious. You can be an ethnic Jew, e.g. Ashkenazi, but don't practice Judaism. I think you are referring to Jewish as a religion, right, because you can't change your ethnicity.
