Miles Heizer

I kind of have a theory it got cancelled because even tho it was successful the White House didn't like it and Netflix needs approval for buying WB.
Yep. That seems to be the general consensus. Basically Netflix caved to the orange pile of shit and his minions. Think its time to cancel Netflix.

Unpopular opinion but I am glad Boots isn't getting 2nd season, especially after the creators mentioned the Gulf War as the continuation of the story... That would kill the careers of everyone involved, with its controversy IMHO. Now let's light a candle and pray that Miles will be cast in something gay again soon and that he shows his butt and cock and films some steamy sex scenes, preferably with his beautiful hair LOL.

No one cards about the gulf war anymore lol

I know of no huge controversy over making movies or TV about the Gulf War in 2025, lol.
Boots is supposed to be a dramedy, now imagine an dramedy about a war in a current political climate and overall state of the world... Sounds like the best idea ever doesn't it...

Agreed, the show was already called out by the Pentagon as "woke garbage" so having Cope queen out in the Gulf was probably not going to help matters. There was really never much story left to tell, other than resolving Sullivan's arc.

Ya pretty sure that’s not how options work. Theres no way to stop someone else from picking up the option for it unless they are willing to pay to keep it and yet not make the show
It’s called a moratorium clause. Netflix do pay to hold exclusive rights to a show even if they cancel it.

It took years for Disney to be able to continue Daredevil even though they owned the rights to the characters. Disney even had to officially distance themselves from saying Reborn was connected to the Netflix show even though it was clearly a sequel.

Basically Netflix don’t want other networks or platforms continuing a series and riding off the existing publicity or using studio sets, costumes or cast that Netflix would have originally invested money in. By blocking others from picking it up within a set duration it means by the time the rights expire the new network would need to make the sets from fresh, rehire the cast assuming they haven’t found new work, and would need to spend more money on publicity.

I think Netflix enjoys luring audiences into investing time and affection for new shows but has zero interest and financial gain from allowing the shows further seasons. They don’t see the bigger picture, as in ten years from now people like to discover old shows and settle down to binge 5-7 seasons. If they see it’s only 1 season why bother watching it. Even if they did commission a second season they’d refuse to promote it and pretty much bury it out of self-sabotage. They have this dumb idea that new shows win new subscribers and every show needs to be as big as Stranger Things or Squid Game or it’s a flop in their eyes.

I don't even remember what the gulf war was. If it was one of those american wars, i definitely don't know wtf it's about
Long story short Iraq invaded Kuwait, the Kuwaitis obviously don't like this and involve the UN, which eventually leads to a multi-national effort to forcibly remove Iraq from Kuwait. There's a pretty good chance your country was involved. Mind you this was 1990/1991.

Edited to add that yes, Portugal was a coalition member.

yeah i don't remember that from history class, it might've just been a footnote like most xx century wars that weren't wwi and wwii

He always likes Miles's posts but that's the first time I've seen him make a comment like that. I am totally speculating but I get the feeling that Connor genuinely loved Miles and was crushed when they broke up and still hasn't entirely gotten over him.
Do we know who broke up with who?
