For those of you on grindr, do you ever get messaged from guys that are in the military with the same tag line that they are on a peace keeping mission in syria or afghanistan and looking for a ltr and ask you if you could devote your time to them and profess your love. I get them all the time different men saying the same thing. What is this, i know its a scam but are the the same person with a different pic or what , can anyone tell me anything about this?

It's a scam. What more do you really need to know?

Just block them and move on.

General rule of thumb with Grindr:

If a hot guy messages you out of the blue, favorite the profile and go to your favorites. If he is more than 100 miles away it's a scam. Block him.

Sklar

T am curious if you strictly with other guys knowing/watching/ hearing--- or is it strictly private?? and personal?

Years ago, long before Grindr, I hooked up with a guy online who claimed to be on leave from a deployment in Afghanistan. He was really hot. I went over to his hotel and fucked him silly for at least an hour. It was a really hot session, I still remember it and he was very appreciative at the time.

Many guys have their photos stolen and used in scams. They create a hot profile, draw you in and then start asking for favours and small amounts of money.

This poor (and extremely sexy) Romanian security officer has had his image used to try to scam money from gullible types online - mainly women I think - this is his video:

The thing is though, the people who are running the scam have pretty poor english and speak with a thick accent. I’m beyond baffled that the victims didn’t pick up on that. Those are a big red flag right there.

But with a scam, people often want to believe and so they suspend their disbelief. They want to believe that a sexy stranger is attracted to them. Or that their is a secret bank account with millions inside for them.

Life can be hard, so hope can often cross in to the realms of delusion.
