MLB Baseball Players

TBQH, considering that the majority of coaches were former players, and depending on which coaching position(s) you are talking about, the list could be well over 300 candidates. Even if you're talking about the GM/Head Coach, all but a few of them played in the majors in some capacity. It's not really much of a clue.

How about is he a coach on a National or American league?

I bet he doesn’t know who the guy is, and that’s why he’s not telling.

If he does know, he can at least tell us the age range the guy is.

Hey, I cut it down from MLB or MiLB. He’s coaching for 1 of the 30.
And is it a head coach/GM or is it one of the base coaches, line coaches, pitching coaches, etc? That can seriously inflate the number. And if it is the head coach, cutting it from 30 to ~25 isn't much of a cut by saying MLB instead of MiLB, IJS.

Baseball doesn't have head coaches. The main coach of a baseball team is the manager.

Yes, I know they are called managers in baseball. I was just trying to differentiate it from all of the other positions, since he's being ridiculously cagey about it to see if he would say give any clues, which he obviously isn't going to do. He keeps saying coach like it's a big deal, so that's what I'm trying to get him to narrow down. Is it the manager (head coach), the GM, or one of the numerous position coaches? If it's a GM, there are only a few that had MLB careers, whereas with the managers there are a lot more, and if it's a position coach, significantly even more than that.

Personally, I think he's just trying to get attention and it probably isn't anything much at all. Maybe it's a big leaguer, but I sincerely doubt it.

That’s fine. To each his own with their opinion but I did say I’m not going to say who they are. With all the questions being asked I might as well just give the names if I answer them. Damn, just learn to respect that I don’t want to say the names. And no, I’m not looking for attention - I’ve been posting in this thread for a good while now and have never done anything for attention.

Well, if you don't want to be bombarded with questions, then don't post some random dick and say it's and MLB player who's a coach now. It could be anyone. You keep saying you've given enough clues, but you really haven't said anything other than he's an MLB player. That could be dozens to a hundred plus individuals depending on what you mean by coach. You say 1 in 30, so that infers it is a possibly a Manager or GM and not a position coach. But by saying "coach" it could imply that it's a position coach which could be anyone. So, again, you haven't said anything. And with the input from other members, it seems most think that it might as well be some random cock off the internet.

That’s fine. People can think what they want but you’re trying to get me to say who they are and I don’t want to. You need to respect that decision of mine.

The GM isn’t a coach. The GM works with the owner of the team and puts the team together. He/she signs the players and makes trades. Like, for example, Brian Cashman (the Yankees GM) meets with Hal Steinbrenner (the owner of the Yankees) after the season is over. They discuss what’s needed to improve the team. They discuss what’s going on in the farm system, and who to possibly call up. They discuss the free agents that are available, which ones would be a perfect fit for the team, and what they would offer them. They discuss trades to make. The GM has nothing to do with coaching the team. He/she just puts the team together, and is pretty much who the players go to when they have a complaint. Then the GM brings it up to the owner. So he/she is pretty much the person in between the players and the owner of the team.

Yes, I know that as well. But the fact that he keeps using "coach" like it's a big deal, is the wrong nomenclature to begin with as they are called managers in MLB. I was trying to get him to narrow down his definition of "coach", but he refuses to do that, so I'm done with it and the conversation altogether, but thanks for mansplaining things.

Every team has a bench coach, a hitting coach, a pitching coach, a first base coach, a third base coach, a bullpen coach, I think there’s a catching coach now too. Maybe he meant one of them?

I do include managers too as 1 of the coaches. Just sayin.

That's what I was trying to get him to clarify. He keeps saying coach like it's easy to narrow down, when there are hundreds of individuals with that title in the MLB, and I'm pretty sure a good number of them played in the majors at some point. I doubt anyone outside of a hard core fan could even name any position coach of any given MLB team off the top of their head, and even then maybe not. I think he's trying to imply it is a manager, but he won't confirm that.

I’m not confirming nor denying if he’s a manager but when I say “coach” it could mean manager too, they’re all apart of the coaching staff.

Fine, so it's one of hundreds of potential people who are not in the AL west. Again, not really giving any "clues" at all. That's like saying I'm thinking of a major waterway. Here's a clue, it's in the Northern Hemisphere. Just ridiculous. Anyway, thanks for the wild goose chase, but I'm still going to call BS or that it's a photo that you don't want to get in trouble for posting.

You’re acting like I said to guess and want it to be known who they are. Just thought it would be nice to share some things that haven’t been seen of MLB players. I don’t want to say who they are. But trust, whether you want to believe it or not, both guys I posted have played Major League Baseball.
