He doesn't have to appear on the "do not post" list for a thread to be taken down. All he needs to do is to ask the site to remove the thread and it can be removed. Chances are, he just told the site to take the photos/videos down and the moderators removed the thread. He probably did not go as far as to request he be on the list, which is probably doesn't even know exists.
