This baffles me

Has anyone been "beyond LPSG" friends with someone that has had multiple accounts here? Have they ever told you why?

I honestly don't get the rationale of it? So many otherwise good members have been banned because of it. :frown1:

P.S. to anyone who might have them and are reading this....The Mods seem to be pretty darn good and finding them. My guess is that everyone get's caught sooner or later.

It's not allowed...period.
Oh, I know. That's why I don't get it?

I mean, I don't agree or condone it at all, but I at least get the retionale of faking an additional account as another gender, but many times this isn't even the case.

I know that sometimes people will create second accounts to ask questions that they don't want anyone to know THEY are asking. Embarrassing things you don't want your 'friends' to know about. I could see the appeal of that. I've held back or not asked certain questions or not blogged about certain parts of my life because too many people on here know me on Facebook, or at least know me well enough that I don't feel comfortable talking to them about these things. There is a part of myself and my life that I keep private. It would be very nice to not have to be private about it, though.

Ah, never thought about it from that angle. Thanks

Thats what I was thinking. I have wanted to ask certain questions too but Im too paranoid about privacy. Not that I'd create a second account but I'm sure thats why a lot of people do it. Also the man who can't admit or doesnt want to be openly curious who creates a female account to flirt with men.

Some people can express themselves here in ways they can't in person...maybe they can role play...a man as a woman, an older man as a younger man, or a straight guy as a gay guy. They are trying of different identities without committing to them. That's the more innocent multiple-account avenue, compared to someone who might develop a more intimate relationship with a member here through two different personnas. That's more insidious. I've had users approach me through different user names with different motivations. Ya gotta keep your guard up.

I guess I can kind of get it. What if someone like me had a serious year and a half online relationship with someone here and that someone chickened out on meeting the someone like me. And the someone like me was left broken-hearted and devestated. What if the someone like me wanted to talk about it, but didn't want to make a big deal about it, or feel embarrassed, but just wanted some anonymous support? A second identity might come in handy.

I guess, I'm just saying there could be all kinds of reasons. Some nefarious, some maybe not so nefarious.

When I first joined I had 3 accounts and had no idea about the TOS . I had 3 different names depending on how I felt that day or week chatting .....If it wasn't for a very popular and well missed ( Spoiled Princess ) member, I prolly would have been banned ages ago . Thanks SP for saving me bum ! MUAH !!!! where ever U are .

What i don't understand is how they can tell it's not 2 or 3 people using different computers over a router with the same ip. Or even different people who use the same computer.

I think thed have to ask for some sort of further veri, like DL in the case of roommates and spouses, or veri pics in the case of non live in friends?

My friend praxspoor joined shortly before I did. I got some comments and innuendos in my email and on Facebook from members here who had access to such things. They thought he was I and some accused me of multi accounts when I DID rejoin (I didn't know prax had joined, as I do not look over a friends shoulder as they use my computer. )

Once that happened I made sure prax got his damn veri pic up. I never knew if it was reported to the mods (I never received an official pm) but I suppose they would have looked into it if anyone had. When the debacle regarding vlads age came up, and they needed his DL I figured that had there ever been issue with prax and I they would have asked for similar. Shrugs.

As to why people would? I think we have covered most angles. LaFemme and TMMeg really summed it up, along with Inccubus. And we hit upon the less altruistic reasons. I am sure the mods work hard to suss out who is who and ferret out the multi count users from the individuals who share computers.

When my boyfriend was a member we got scolded because he logged into chat when I was at his house on his account and then I got on and started typing. I was told we could both be banned. It made no sense since we were both on camera but oh well. Those are the TOS.

See, that's crazy. I can see if you didn't have cam on...wait were you visible to all? Cuz I think it's kinda lame to have to sign on to two diff puters just to be in the same chat room. I have seen others do EXACTLY what you describe (and no I won't name names, sorry mods) and as long as they are both on cam, and that cam is open to the public, then what's the harm? I can see it from a text only pov, in that you wouldn't want one passing as the other and deceiving people for whatever reason...but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Perhaps a mod or admin can shed some light on this?

There are things I won't share on here because I only have one account and I think that you can't share accounts is ridiculous. I have three FB accounts, three hotmail accounts and three yahoo accounts.

After five years of being a member here, I can only say - some people are just mental.

Look, the doctor says I'm on the maximum dosage! What else do you want me to do???!!!

Edit: You were talking to me, right?
