Welcome to the site. I had a similar path to you - very very small flaccid size, actually even smaller at 1.5 inches and with a Big bush which covers most of it! I used to avoid any situation where others might see how tiny my soft cock was but once I got over that I found I actually enjoyed the contrast with a large or average sized flaccid cock.
