Dear LPSG members:

My name is Rob, and I have contracted to purchase this forum from Mark. I am not the wood furniture salesman. That guy didn't follow through, so I have agreed to purchase the forum.

I wanted to wait until everything was final, but because of the general freaking out that has ensued, I thought I'd make myself known.

First, and foremost, I do not intend to alter the format of this forum. I have been a lurker off and on at LPSG for the past five years. My goal in purchasing this forum is to use my technical knowledge and experience in vBulletin forum development to make this place live up to its true potential. I don't own any porn sites, and I don't intend on starting now. As a large penis owner, I have always enjoyed this forum for what it is, and now what it will be.

The first thing that I will do as new owner will be to empower the more active members here as moderators and super moderators. Next, I would like to fix all of the bugs associated with the move from Invision to vBulletin. Finally, I would like to start adding features to this site that will make it a more enjoyable community for everyone. I'm open to any ideas, but here are some that I have:

1. Improve the gallery feature so that it is better integrated with the user profile system.

2. Create a system to facilitate "Large Penis Encounters" (working title) where guys and gals can use the site to set up "real world" connections.

3. A wiki type system that helps us to effectively organize knowledge so that people can use this site as an educational resource effectively.

4. A rating system where guys can get their schlongs rated by the other members.

5. Improve the chat room feature.

6. Create a store where members can purchase upgrades such as myname@lpsg.org email address with points earned according to forum activity.

7,8,9??? etc., to be determined by YOU the members.

For the most part you will find that I am a laissez fair admin, I won't be the most active member, but I'll be in the background, working closely with the mods to make sure that the forum runs smoothly.

I understand that you each choose to be here, and that this forum has little value without it's members. I promise you that the only changes that I will make to the forum are to attempt to improve YOUR experience here. Please give me a chance before you jump ship.

About money, I did not buy this site to make a profit. I will maintain minimal advertising - likely just keep the single banner at the top, and hopefully the small commissions earned will pay back the cost of this site over the next 18-24 months.

I am happy to answer any questions that you have.

Best regards,

Rob

Hi, Rob. Thanks for the intro. I'm glad to see your plans for the site - sounds excellent. I do hope to continue my membership for quite some time.

Hi Rob,

Thank you for coming forth and making public who you are and your intensions. Hopefully this will put to rest some of the inhibitions many of us had/have. I, too, have been a member for a long time and do thoroughly enjoy the site. I have learned a great deal and have made many wonderful contacts with many wonderful people here.

Congratulations on your purchase and best wishes for a successful site!

Always,

brett april

Rob,

Its a pleasure to see your introduction. Glad to see the torch is passed to able hands, after enjoying my time here with Mark's lpsg board. Congrats.

Hi Rob, I am also really happy (and relieved!) to read your introduction. I'm sure you'll let us know what kind of feedback you need from us and on what topics. I'm confident we can all work together to continue making this site a great place to visit.

will these be appointments or elections? I can only think of maybe 3 people whose integrity and impartiality would make them suitable for that ... but I do tend to hold fairly high standards :p

Congratulations on your purchase and best of luck for a successful site! Sounds like you have some gr8 idea's for the site. I too am a former *lurker* that came in from the cold:) and have meet many truely nice ppl and friends.

Yes Rob, hello and how are you? Glad to see that very informative introduction. From the sounds of it: I think everything is going to go just swimmingly.

Congrats on the purchase.

Ya see, guys? You're in good hands. :)

I was impressed by Rob from the first time he emailed me to inquire about the auction of LPSG.ORG. He's obviously very intelligent, conscientious, and I know enough about his other projects to say that large penises, or at least the pursuit thereof, are something with which he's quite familiar. (No, I haven't seen his... :p )

By the middle of next week, I'm hoping that the transaction will be finalized, and I'm sure you'll start to see some improvements to the board. I'm glad he believes the board has yet to meet its full potential. I always felt that way too, but I never had the resources to make it all happen. I'm confident that Rob will be able to devote more time to the board than I ever could, and that he will be an excellent caretaker of the LPSG for a long time to come.

yes Rob good to know u r the new owner Glad to know there r no big difference to the site and we can all enjoy the site continually. congrats on ur purchase and hope we will hear form you in the future

I also hope that Mark stays around.

RE: Moderators
The primary criteria for a good moderator: someone who will frequently visit the forum and participate in discussion, someone who can be objective and doesn't take sides, someone comfortable with the technical side of things - doesn't take much, just move a post here, warn a member there.

Anyway, please let me know if you're interested, and we'll go from there.

Thanks again for the warm pre-welcome!

Rob

Mark, I strongly suggest that you be awarded a lifetime Gold Membership to LPSG.

How about that Rob? We've got to keep the guy around.

Congratulations on your successful purchase of the board, Rob. I hope you have the patience of Job. ;p

Welcome Rob. You sound energetic and ready to go. I would like to see a place where web sites that pass the test are put and aren't posted to but are a resource. such as PPBA | Teenwire. Those first initials may not be right. A list of repuptable penis size surveys, web sites for various real physical problems men can have such as prostate, impotence and not forget the boys and include other sites that explain puberty. A committee or someone would have to review suggestions from the membership and then decide which web sites merit being listed under the categories.

When a teen comes on board and asked am I normal, it would be great to just say click on this forum scroll down to this word and check out the web sites listed.

And thanks Mark for seeing that someone who cares about us bought the web site and name for this group that has become a another family to me. Mark and Rob do both of you post from time to time.

And Rob, if you don't... DON'T PRAY FOR THEM! Trust me, hun...

Hi, Rob and WELCOME!:)

The greatest fear among the members here seemed to be that we would log on one day and find a garish high priced porn site. Of course, those are a dime a dozen.
As a member already, you surely know what sets this site apart from all the others.
What I particularly enjoy is the forum discussions.
Here we have humor, sage advice, and genuine support.
Your smartest move is to get the involvement and opinions of other members.
Keep in touch. I think that everyone here will be happy to help you make this site an even bigger success.
HEY, MISTERMARK, A big thank you! And, don't be a stranger.;)

PS: Rob, As you already found out, people are afraid of change. I think it would be wise to introduce any changes gradually and then ask for comments rather than doing a major overhaul all at once.........

nooo not I ... I really don't have the patience with people to pull that off :D I can think of a couple folks who would make good moderators though - my question was more along the lines of, were you intending to have people put THEMSELVES forward, or ask people you already considered suitable?
