NEWBIE: how to get into sounding

You just keep going. It does not hurt, but you will feel the sound penetrate the muscle/sphincter (of sorts) that keeps the bladder closed. I had zero pain going in and have been in numerous times with no problem. It actually feels good to penetrate the opening to the bladder and it is a routine thing when having a catheter inserted in a hospital.

I think if the guy from another post in this thread got a serious infection, something must not have been clean. I have sounded for years and never gotten infected.

Be clean and go slow.
I'm the guy that had the infection. I just assumed I went too far with the sound, I remember inserting the van buren slowly (making sure my cock was flaccid and had plenty of lube) then after a few mins my cock went hard so I'm guessing I went through or touched my prostate then I slowly stood up and I felt the sound turn clockwise. It did feel like maybe I was at my bladder, it was a nice sensation no pain but when I took the sound out there was abit of blood so I went wrong somewhere and then I had trouble peeing.

Oh, I see, sounds like you somehow pushed something a little too hard and caused breakage where infection could set in. Sorry about that man. Have you done sounding since? If you haven't, I can understand why.

if youre inside urethra.. do u in and out the sound?

Apparently you experience a pinching sensation which is the end of the sound gradually opening the bladder sphintcer. That's what I read. I tried to reach my bladder last year with van buren sounds but I ended up with a water infection so was on antibiotics for a week.
oh can u elaborate more about the infection?

Well it was a UTI (Uriney tract infection) basically I kept needing to pee and some blood came out. Also (which might sound strange) I couldn't keep still in Bed. I was on Antibiotics (which turned my pee bright orange but the Nurse said that's normal) for a Week and it soon cleared up. I don't know for sure what I did with the Van Buren sound but obviously I didn't use it properly.
