Now see, I could see where that might make somebody think twice about taking that step. But again, he might have just been a shitty actor. I feel like if you're u have that star power they don't give a fuck. Like the Italian Stallion himself, Stallone. Or Arnold Schwarzenegger or even Jackie Chan.

But obviously I'm not calling Nick any of those legends lol.

Anyways, I was just trying to get some explanation about that but I think I derialed the thread enough

Yeah I know, but everything I've read points to award politics that happen all the time, in the Grammys as well. The board(who have people on there who haven't even seen all the films/albums nominated put in their vote based off optics. Crash, being a film about racial equality with an already lauded ensemble cast seemed like the safest bet not to piss anybody off- they just happened to be dead wrong on that.

It's also not uncommon for people who voted on these boards to only be interested in like, one or two categories. So for everything outside that category, they'll just pick whatever they heard the most about/whatever's the most popular and move along.

Again, didn't mean to derail, just wanted to clarify

The sentiment at the time was that everybody else thought it was a given, but the board is so disconnected they had no idea what they were doing. Same thing happened when Macklemore beat Kendrick Lamar for best album lol

How many successful young Hollywood talents in major films or working for real outlets do you know have successfully transitioned to or back from for-pay porn? I don't mean no-budget indies or Christian films or short films done for friends, I mean at the studio film or HBO/Netflix/CW/etc level.

Either way, Nick isn't doing that which is very smart. As long as he doesn't actually do much on this OF he should be fine. Unlike most dudes LPSG tries to convince me are successful despite doing OF, he actually has a legit career.
