Never officially announced, but it feels like it
I saw an interview he did not too long ago about him getting punched in the subway by a crazy guy. He said he called his bf and told him and his bf said okay (like with a so what attitude) if nic were my bf I'd be right there destroying that guy. Yikes. That sounds like a couple that is having some issues, and Nic publicly stating that may have just exacerbated the issues. I hate gossiping about shit I don't know, and since I loved them as a couple, I wish they were able to work it out, but it definitely feels like they didn't.
It was the realtor he was going to go see for an apartment, Nic texts him and the realtor replies “okay” with no sympathy. In regard to the boyfriend, all he said was he called him but did not say what his reaction was.

IDK but the movie is based on a real person (Nate Williams) who is a Christian. But it doesn't seem to be some kind of propaganda movie or anything. It's mostly just an uplifting inspiration story about overcoming childhood trauma. Nic could have easily been attracted to this script based on those uplifting themes and not necessarily the religious aspect.Wait, is Nic a bible thumper?

It should be noted, this movie premiered at the Heartland International Film Festival in October of 2023.
It was only recently picked up by Angel Studios in late 2024 for distribution, to release later this month, January 2025. So no one involved in the production of this film, knew it would eventually be an Angel Studios movie
