They kind of do. DCU projects are either HBO Max (Creature Commandos, Peacemaker) or HBO itself (Lanterns).
I think American Villain will be HBO Max.
This gives me Jacob Elordi in Wuthering Heights vibe. Won't do shit to his career, but it's still controversial. Definitely not AS controversial as Jacob's casting however.
