I only knew him from the sitcom show Melissa & Joey but towards the end of the series he hardly was in any of the episodes... im guessing that's when he started to doing the filming for his movies?

The show ran from 2010 to 2015. By 2015 Nick had already completed Kings of Summer, Jurassic World and Being Charlie. So Yea, probably.
