I think your phrasing was not merely about the length of the hair. You should have understood that the wig is an expression of gender; you were attacking a trans person’s expression of gender. That’s transphobic.

Hair has zero to with gender men have long hair woman have short hair. Trans people come in all shapes and sizes and ascetics so don't push your view on what a trans or in thials case non binary person wishes to look like. Men wear makeup and are cis gender hetrosexual males. To have a preference isn't transphobic you're mearly looking for a grievance where there is non to be found i find the individual extremely attractive i just prefer short hair.
