I've seen that movie and no.

Paul already HAS an Oscar nomination, for Aftersun. He has a very strong shot because Sean Penn has already won 2 Oscars (which he didn't deserve) and Hamnet is getting rave reviews + the character is incredibly well-written in the book.

Mescal already has the 'Academy Award Nominee' tag in his name (for Lead Actor not that they mention what category got someone that stat but still).

And I don't think that Supporting Actor race is over just yet. I dislike sweeps anyways so hopefully it isn't one of those years...But to defend Penn I'll say that I disagree that Penn didn't deserve his prior Oscars. While it's been years since I've seen either of his winning performances I can't say he didn't deserve them.

I know many wanted Murray and Rourke to win but I was fine with both of them losing. At least they each won precursor awards before they lost the Oscar to him.
