I found this quote from a site called altpenis.com in an article about the size of Rasputins penis.

No, or at leats it's impossible to make such a statement.

The question would be: did any research measure 500.000 males? No.

Statistics on penis size are incomplete and fake, just to tell you that some studies say that average is between 13 to 18 cm, 5 cm for error margin: no way.

If I'm not wrong the biggest research on penis size had taken about 15.000 males from one country, it's not very representative of over 2,500,000,000 men in the world...

I also find it hard to belive that 7.5 is only 1 in 50, I'd have thought it to be more, I'd have thought 9" to be slightly less than 1 in 5,000, but 1 in 500,000 I just can't belive.

Only 1 in 500,000 men has a 10 inch penis?! I think not! That would mean that in a city the size of Seattle, you would be lucky to find even 1 man who is that big! And in the New York City metropolitan area, there would less than 20 such men! Obviously, these figures are far from being accurate!

Anyone want to hazard a guess as to what the real life figures might be? 1 in 100-200 with a 9 inch penis? 1 in 500-1000 with a 10 inch penis? Or is that going too far the other way and making them too common?

I believe your guess is much closer than the studies. I grew up next door to a family that had 7 males in it. The avg size was known by the women around there and some guys was 9 inches. This in a town of approx. 170,000 people. How many more families here have males with 9 inches or bigger ? Who knows. Talking with most of the ladies I have had sex with, I have come to the conclusion that there are many more 5.25 inch erect men than the studies have shown also. We must also remember that most men with less than a 6 inch cock is not likely to participate in a study where they are measured by someone else. If they did the 8 inches that is the new 9 inches wouldn't exist. I know if I was packing a 5 inch erection I wouldn't get close to a study where someone was holding a tape measure.

Why can't it be right?

* A lot of the people on here who say they are 10" long... aren't. We all know that.

* Other 10"ers mentioned here are unreliable second hand evidence. We all know that as well.

* People in the 9" range can fudge 10" with poor measuring/bone pressing.

* Forget about measuring with your eye (or your mouth for that matter), it's a very poor measuring instrument. The difference between 9" and 10"? Many people can't tell you if a TV is 30" or 40" unless you compare them side by side! Even our own Manly Banisters admitted to poor estimation of a penis very familiar to her.

So, call me an official skeptic of the common large penis. I'm even willing to bet that the current surveys are on the high side. Maybe it's wishful thinking that makes people think there are more? Maybe it's the fact that people lie about their size.

Here's the thing every survey has shown... there are not a lot of guys with big ones, even 8 inches. Hell, a lot of them have even shown that 90% of guys are UNDER 7 INCHES (and some people say that is average!).

Sorry, but that's no where near accurate. Your assumptions would mean there were 1/8th as many 8 inchers as 7 inchers but only half as many 9 inchers as 8 inchers? That makes no sense.

I'd like to see the studies they are referencing for the bell-curve distribution and especially how they determined the estimated standard deviation. I don't pay too much attention to any sort of story that vaguely references "studies" but provides no sources.

There are tons of threads here dealing with the average penis size and the distribution of penis sizes.

However, I'd like to say that men and women consistently overestimate penis size. I am in complete agreement with Blocko on this one.

Lifestyles is unreliable because men were asked to do it at a night club.
