Funny story, I had a few older friends in the fashion industry and when Jeff exploded onto the scene he was apparently scooped up by the "in" crowd that would have been the equivalent of Warhol and his factory in his day etc. One top designer took Jeff to Fashion Week in Paris and housed him at a boutique hotel nearby to not raise eyebrows. But he wanted Jeff to be "photographed" in his rooms at The Ritz and called my fashion photog friend there for the shows to take the photos of him.
BUT when Jeff arrived at The Ritz The desk clerk/manager (gay, duh) RECOGNIZED HIM, that's how famous he'd become so quickly, and fearing he'd be photographed in a room at this famed and recognizable hotel, made sure that wouldn't happen and denied him entry, saying there was no answer in the room.
When the designer learned of this he called my photog friend who was obvs at a much lower end hotel and arranged for Jeff to be photographed there in all his glory.
Sadly my friend is no longer here, and despite many requests I never saw those photos. I'm sure they are very artistic unlike any of Jeff's porn shoots, and I'm sure they're out there somewhere in the universe. Maybe someday they'll surface.
