All I have is grindr, and to be honest I'm getting disillusioned with it. I don't live in a big city and I keep seeing the same guys popping up over and over again. But the real problem is the guys I'm interested in aren't interested in me, and I get a lot of interest from guys I don't want it from. The end result is I hardly hook up with anyone these days except when I travel out of town, which is rare these days because of the plague.
Had a kik account for a while, but my god that was terrible.

I would say folks will would be amazed at the number of others out there. I live in a busy suburb.

Sniffies would be okay when I'm out and about, or traveling. I live in a sparsely populated area so it would narrow down my home base a little to closely for comfort were I to use it at home. Plus most of the profiles that have pics are the same guys I see on A4A or Grindr.

Apparently there's a whole wild world out there...
Now note that in many areas there are an over abundance of bottoms. Seems to be a regional issue (lots of bottoms in big cities). There are also some pretty aggressive "hosting now" posts if that's your thing. Pretty simple to use.

Me too, had so much sex with guys when I traveled. Can't wait to start again and get a guy in my room again for much fun on the bed. I used CL for a long time and it was very successful for me. Now I use doublelist and it works too.

Travelled almost every week; the upside was hotel bar time. When I was younger, hooked up with other younger single business travelers. After I was married, stuck to married men. It was "friends with benefits".

@Lolshesaidwhattowho your question is "hard" to answer in a general way. Context matters. Where are you sending signals? In a bar... in some random suburb on a business trip? Or their exercise room? Or the locker room? Or at a bar in town with the rainbow pride flag painted across the pavement? Signaling in some environments is much harder to decipher, or requires no nuance at all.
Wherever I've gotten in "trouble" for signaling like a battleship in distress it's always been because of the eyes... an unrelenting stare at a stranger is a pretty good indication you're attracted to what you see. So is rubbing your own crotch. Or a slow deliberate wink.
The problem is that times are changing...it seems that gay is much more just part of who you are, even if you are a man of a certain age. You don't have to swish and sway or drop your wrist to be into guys. ..preferring manhole or dick can be the realm of the most "normal" solidly masculine corner optometrist who's fully built and lip biting handsome and just a damn nice kind humble guy... hiding a pocket rocket cock and an urge to top and passionately kiss another man.
I'd say let technology be your friend... send your smoke signals with a location based app like Scruff and see who winks back. You never know who's out there lookin' too....
