I've been working out lately. I've always been slim and I've been trying to gain some weight and muscle. I've been seeing results by just working out but I've heard that taking creatine and protein can be useful. So my question would be what is a good brand of creatine and protein?

Do a little research and then trial and error to find what you like best. I would also recomment looking up Rich Piana...great videos with solid advice from a guy that worked hard to put on size. Don't trust genetically gifted peoples advice.

The thing is that I've always had trouble building muscle. For example I can eat fast food for every meal of the day and I usually hover around 145-150lbs.. I guess my question would be what's the difference between slim protein and "bulking" protein? Is there a difference? Or does it just depend on how much you take? Thanks for all the solid advice so far btw..

Find brands that use Crea-pure.

It's a pure creatine monohydrate.

Don't believe the hype about CEE or Kre-Alclyn or other bullshit..Good ol' mono is more than good enough.

Creatine doesn't just bulk you up..It legitimately helps you lift heavier longer.

The only guys who need 1 gram of protein (per lb. of bodyweight per day) are the huge Mr. Olympians who are trying to maintain muscle.

The most any of us really need is .5, maybe .75

Drink chocolate milk and eat a handful of almonds after working out and you should be fine...Start slamming protein as soon as you wake up.

'Drop sets' will cause you to bulk the fuck up fast..Love 'em.

I was wondering what "drop sets" meant. But after looking it up, I've been doing that for a long long time. I do that while doing sit ups. I start holding a 50 pound dumb bell behind my neck. When I fail, I drop to a 40. continue down until I reach 10.

Same with curls. Start with a 50 pounder, drop to a 40, 35, 30, 25, 20, and finally 10.

Side bends starting with the 50 and dropping.

Pull ups starting with 20 pounds on my ankles, then dropping.

Ass-to-floor squats, starting with 50 pounds and dropping from there.

Cool, never knew there was a term for it.

I take no supplements or protein. I do drink lots of vitamin D milk and lots of water. Also love almonds, eat a bunch through the week.

As you can tell from my pics, I have not bulked up. But I do not want to, I prefer being Lean-And-Mean. ;-)

So my question would be what is a good brand of creatine and protein?

For protein I like BioChem Whey. It's got the least amount of junk additives.

I've never taken creatine, but there is real science that proves it works. There is also evidence that it helps recovery from injury.

A popular and effective protein program is GOMAD. Gallon Of Milk A Day. Very spendy, tough to do if you're lactose intolerant. However, lots of experienced strength coaches and athletes swear by it. Drink whole fat milk. The fat helps with the absorption of the protein.

The easiest way is to just start stuffing your face with food. If you're going to build muscle, you need the materials to build it with. Eat. Lots. Of. Food.
