So today at work I was talking with a girl about bedroom furniture and i told her that i use as nightstands; just two big dressers. one at each side of the bed. Then she just looked at me like i was from mars.

so my question is... whats next to your bed? and do you find this odd? That i use dressers as night stands.

On one side is a wall. On the other is two plastic bins full of blankets, stacked, with a partial sheet of plywood on top.

I've got the wall on one side a small table on the other side which I use as a nightstand
I can understand why she thought you were crazy with the dressers.
Depending on the combination of bed/dresser the dresser could be a foot higher than the bed making it a pretty useless nightstand.
What kind of dresser do you have?

Doggy ramp?
I've never heard of them before. Can't your dog jump?

Oak with Leadlight Glass Door Alcohol Cabinet at Head area
(empty)
32" TV atop it
(with SKY decoder next to it)
Double Settee pull out at rear of bed
2x Windows with (diff colour) Thermal drapes
Chilli Bin, that Night Laptop sits upon

I am cramped for space, but .. fully functional ..ha

None of this night stand stuff, what the Fck is that?

My nightstands are on the other side of the room as I write this. Don't think we'll be sleeping in here tonight. Painters are having their way with my room - only two weeks late. Ugh.

On my side of the bed in nightstand with lamp and CPAP machine. On partners side of the bed lamp and radio. It looks like dressers might be too high to use for this purpose?

One side of my bed is against the wall, I have a small night table to other side. But using dressers as nightstands doesn't seem weird to me.

My dressers

In one bedroom, there's a telephone table on one side and a short chest of drawers on the other. In the other bedroom there's a 2 tier book shelf on each side.

To me the idea is to have something functional which can hold a lamp and a few odds and ends. Never have had a standard night table.
