I searched and searched for an answer to this question I have, and I can never find a solution. I'm going to ask this quesiton, and what I want is a solution. Please.

Lately I've been going to the gym, and I noticed that many men in the locker room shower naked. I've never really experienced this before. Every time I see a naked man in the locker room, I get an erection. What's worse is that today I decided to take a shower in the gang room. There were some guys in there showering...and worst of all a professor of mine. I forced myself to take a shower there, because some said that the more you get used to it, the less likely you will get an erection in the locker room/ shower room. It was so embarrassing having an erection. I kept on thinking about gross things, but nothing would calm it down.

I tried masturbating before going to the locker room, but I still get erections. Is there any advice to help keep my penis flaccid? It's really embarrassing. I just want to shower naked with other guys and keep my penis flaccid, like theirs. I love the feeling of being naked in front of others, but not with an erection.

Hey man.....I do think that the more u shower with others the more normal it become.....something is being turned on in your mind by the whole neaked experience with guys....maybe somehow the gay side of u while growing up was repressed or seen as naughty etc....and thus naked guys and the thought of this is somehow a turn on for whatever reasons.

It's the newness and unusualness of the activity that's sparking you up. I'm afraid you're right that the only way past it is to go right through it. Keep going until it's not unusual anymore, and then it won't affect you so much.

I would say that you should concentrate on the showering - on getting under the water, washing yourself, shampooing, rinsing, all of these rdinary and functional things. Try not to think about the naked men.

i had the same problem. didnt have to shower for gym in grade school so when I went to a real gym in the real world I had a problem with getting hard in the shower.

The first time I went to a nudist club, as soon as I stripped I got hard espically when I knew people were looking at me, men or women. The lady manager took me for a tour in a golf cart. Hey detective, I agree with the other posters that in time the erection thing will go away. You're probably getting an erection because you're nervous about it; this is totally normal. If you think about how a body reacts when it's nervous (butterflies in your stomach, heart beating, etc.) it's really not that different from how a body reacts when it's horny (butterflies in your stomach, heart beating, etc.). The real difference is in how your body interprets these signals - so it's very, very normal for guys to get erections when they're nervous, and especially when they're nervous about getting erections.

Relax, take your time, and don't get upset with yourself. Soon enough your body will learn the difference.

While I've never had this problem, I believe you've received good advice here. Moreover, if you were my student, and I saw you with an erection in the shower, I wouldn't think anything of it, and I imagine your professor thought nothing of it either.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I'm going to try it again and again until I can finally take a shower in front of others without an erection. I forgot to mention that even when I take a shower in the stalls, I still get an erection. Basically when I strip down I get an erection. I think first I'm going to take a shower in the stalls, and once I don't have an erection there, I'm going to try the gang shower again. Again I appreciate the advice everyone.

Yeah- seeing another guy naked with an erection is normally reserved for one of two things: either watching a porn DVD or accidentally walking in on your roommate during his daily jack off-

but you know what...

An erection is normal and healthy and every EVERY *E V E R Y * guy gets them daily. An erect penis is a healthy penis. Guys who watch straight porn pretend theirs is the big one balls-deep in puss, and guys who watch gay porn are mentally substituting their mouth or ass for the ones on the screen. All guys know that a rod can pop out of nowhere, for any non-sexual reason- even in the showers among other guys.

In the showers, some of those guys are gonna see it and be *impressed* by your personal self pride to be in a locker room with a thick bone. Other guys are gonna see it and it might give them wood, too (they have a tendency to spread a bit, you know...) maybe 2-5% will have some sort of negative opinion, but you know what? SO WHAT! Are you worried that someone is gonna report you as some big pervy dude? Hardly. Like others have said, this nervous reaction is gonna pass as you get used to it- and until it does, it's NORMAL for you. So be normal, and use your health club as you normally do.
