GIFs are one of the oldest image formats on the internet. When the format was conceived they never expected folks to use them to post HD video (they didn't even have HD video back then). Since then formats specifically for video, namely MP4, have come along that can compress at much greater quality and file size considerations. The only reason GIFs have hung around is mostly because its one of the very few image formats that can be animated, and is fairly easy to use.Found them, does anyone know why a gif like this is so heavy? It's almost 41MB while the video from Twitter it's just 1 MB.
