Sean cody

Seancody models should not have surnames. That's just... wrong!
They didn't have surnames before because they were recruiting men who were not porn stars or only fans models and could craft their whole persona from scratch. Now they recruit men who are already pornstars with their own personas, so they can't really change their names.

Sean Cody has fallen so far from where they once were.

Yeah of course. I get why it's become like this now but it is just not in the "spirit" of the old amateur style that made SC what it was to begin with. They could have at least tried to hold onto that... 😮‍💨

The whole point of the single name concept was for it to feel like the guys were mostly "regular Joes" plucked off the street, and not professional porn stars. It's a total bastardization of the brand. RIP

the recruiters are not out in the streets scouting for models anymore, they're just DM'ing guys off twitter who do OF already...

in the 2000s there used to be skeezy old men walking around in san diego (epicenter of college surfer bros / military guys) scouting models at the beach and walmart n shit. that's where u would find the good trade. san diego is where sean cody, corbin fisher and active duty started.

the talent were just young guys that probably didn't realize how what they were doing would be on the internet forever, or didn't think about it much. they all stayed in-house with one studio and weren't trying to make a career out of porn. they just wanted some beer money or traveling money

In some cases they might have also been trying it out of curiosity in addition to the reasons you mentioned but yea, many of them likely didn't think that twenty years later people would still be getting off to their videos and that the internet is forever.
Not the case anymore which is why you're only getting people who do this for a living.
I miss the old magic but it's sadly not coming back IMO.

Doesnt help that these parasocial weirdos seek them out personally, feeling the need to engage and bring up their porn, thus outing them.

Yup, I know a couple of friends long retired from the industry and while they aren't ashamed of their porn past, it doesn't mean they want complete strangers messaging them on Facebook etc. asking about it.
Why they have their settings to private.
As to your other point, I just have to shake my head on here about how some people seem shocked that people who are married etc. are deleting their profiles after being contacted by random strangers about their past.
My rule of thumb has always been unless someone's socials talk about their porn past (Dean Phoenix and Turk Mason's do) leave them the fuck alone.
